Extensive lists of monomers, catalyst components and solvents are given. In the examples butadiene is polymerized alone or copolymerized with styrene or isoprene using n-butyllithium and potassium or sodium dodecylbenzene sulphonate with as solvents cyclohexane containing toluene or n-hexane containing toluene, ethyl benzene, α- methyl naphthalene or o-xylene. The process may be continuous or batchwise and the catalyst components may be mixed in the polymerization reactor or before addition to it. Methanol, water and antioxidants may be added at the termination of polymerization.
