Alkoxylated alcohols and their use in formulations for hard surface cleaning Formulations, comprising at least one compound according to general formula (I) 2. The formulation according to claim 1 , wherein the formulation is selected from a liquid formulation and a solid formulation.3. The formulation according to claim 1 , wherein the formulation further comprises an organic complexing agent.4. The formulation according to claim 1 , wherein the formulation further comprises an anionic surfactant.5. The formulation according to claim 1 , wherein Ris selected from —CH(CH)-groups.6. The formulation according to claim 1 , further comprising at least one organic acid selected from acetic acid claim 1 , citric acid claim 1 , and methanesulfonic acid.7. The formulation according to claim 1 , wherein the formulation is suitable for hard surface cleaning.8. A process for making a formulation according to claim 1 , the process comprising mixing a compound of formula (I) with water and optionally with an organic complexing agent claim 1 , an anionic surfactant or an organic acid claim 1 ,wherein the organic acid is at least one selected from the group consisting of acetic acid, citric acid, and methanesulfonic acid.10. The compound according to claim 9 , wherein Ris selected from —CH(CH)-groups.12. The process according to claim 11 , wherein the alkylene oxide is reacted in a molar excess of at least 1.5·n claim 11 , based on a total of the compound of formula (II).13.
