Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Zugmasse eines Zugverbandes während einer Zugfahrt, wobei die Zugkraft und Beschleunigung oder Verzögerung während Beschleunigungs- oder Verzögerungsphasen der Zugfahrt gemessen werden und unter Zuhilfenahme dieser Messwerte die Zugmasse errechnet wird. Das Verfahren zeichnet sich insbesondere dadurch aus, dass die Zugkraftmessung in wenigstens zwei verschiedenen Messdurchgängen erfolgt, wobei in einem ersten Messdurchgang eine erste Zugbeschleunigung mit einer ersten Zugkraft und in einem zweiten Messdurchgang eine zweite Zugbeschleunigung mit einer zweiten Zugkraft ermittelt werden, wobei der Betrag der ersten Zugkraft kleiner als der Betrag der zweiten Zugkraft ist. Aus der Differenz der ersten Zugkraft und der zweiten Zugkraft, bezogen auf die Differenz der ersten und zweiten Beschleunigung, wird die Zugmasse ermittelt.

The relative dimensions of the weighbridge, track sections and railway cars may be such that each car can be weighed one bogie at a time or one axle at a time.

During braking, an absolute difference (| ω 1 - ω a |) is determined between the rotational speed of the specific wheel axle (131) and an average rotational speed (ω a ) of the other wheel axles and in response to the absolute difference exceeding a threshold value, a friction parameter (µ m ) is determined reflecting a friction coefficient (µ e ) between the wheels (121a, 121b) on the specific wheel axle (131) and the rails (181, 182) upon which the rail vehicle (100) travels. The braking procedure is repeated for each of the wheel axles to estimate a respective fraction (m 1 , m 2 , m n ) of the overall weight (m tot ) carried by each of said wheel axles.

An installation for weighing moving loads such as railway vehicles comprises two weighing assemblies 21 positioned in a gap of a railway track, each assembly 21 comprising a weigh rail 65 longitudinally supported at spaced locations and a flexure plate 75 extending along each side of the weigh rail, the two flexure plates 75 being so secured at their ends to end portions of the weigh rail and at their mid portions to supports 78 that expansion and contraction of the weigh rail and downward deflection of the mid portion of the weigh rail when subjected to load is permitted, such downward deflection being measured to provide an indication of the weight of the load. Each weigh rail 65 is supported at its ends on saddles 51 which are provided with plane or arcuate rail supporting surfaces Figs. 8 and 7 (not shown) and are mounted by bolts on two parallel beams 41 of a support frame 40 which is embedded in a concrete base of the installation, the two beams 41 also supporting the supports 78 for the flexure plates 75. Each assembly is provided with a further beam 24 which is mounted between the beams 41 and which supports portions of the railway track, these portions being prevented from relative movement towards each other by stop plates 26a, 26b welded to the beam 24. A load bearing resilient elastomeric rail pad operates as a load transducer to measure the weight that the pad supports as a vehicle passes over the pad. Rail pads are installed between the foot of a conventional railway rail and its' supporting sleepers for achieving shock and vibration isolation. The load measuring rail pad is formed firstly by dividing the thickness of the conventional pad into two halves 6, 7 and sandwiching a set of thin pressure sensors 8 between them. There may be four sensors arranged in a rectangular pattern, allowing the effects of rail pitch and roll to be either detected or cancelled. Low friction sheets may be included to resist in plane shearing effects. The sensors function via changes in their electrical properties such as resistance with applied pressure. They specifically do not function by fibre optics or the transmission of light.

A brake unit (101) gradually applies an increasing brake force to a specific wheel axle (131). During braking, an absolute difference (│ω1 – ωa│) is determined between the rotational speed of the specific wheel axle (131) and an average rotational speed (ωa) of the other wheel axles and in response to the absolute difference exceeding a threshold value, a friction parameter (μm) is determined reflecting a friction coefficient (μe) between the wheels (121a, 121b) on the specific wheel axle (131) and the rails (181, 182) upon which the rail vehicle (100) travels. The braking procedure is repeated for each of the wheel axles to estimate a respective fraction (m1, m2, mn) of the overall weight (mtot) carried by each of said wheel axles.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Kraftmesseinrichtung (20) zur Erfassung von Bahnzügen einer laufenden Materialbahn (10), die eine durch die Laufrichtung definierte Längsrichtung und eine Querrichtung aufweist, wobei die Kraftmesseinrichtung (20) eine Achse (22) und auf der Achse abgestützte, von der Materialbahn umschlungene Messwalze (30) aufweist. Erfindungsgemäß ist dabei vorgesehen, dass die Messwalze als segmentierte Messwalze (30) mit zwei oder mehr Messsegmenten (32) ausgebildet ist, welche separat auf der Achse (22) verschiebbar und in einer Messposition auf der Achse arretierbar sind, um die Messsegmente (32) entsprechend gewünschter Messpositionen in Querrichtung der Materialbahn (10) zu positionieren, so dass Längsabschnitte (12) der Materialbahn jeweils ein Messsegment (32) umschlingen. Die Messsegmente (32) umfassen jeweils einen Kraftaufnehmer (36), der der Bestimmung des Bahnzugs des das jeweilige Messsegment (32) umschlingenden Längsabschnitts (12) der Materialbahn dient und der eine Halterung bereitstellt, mit der das Messsegment (32) auf der Achse (22) aufsitzt. Die Achse (22) ist mit sich im Wesentlichen in axialer Richtung über die gesamte Breite erstreckenden elektrischen Leitern (26) versehen, die axial an jeder Stelle kontaktierbar sind und mit denen die von den Kraftaufnehmern (36) der Messsegmente (22) gelieferte Messsignale zu einer an einem Achsenende angeordneten Auswerteeinheit (28) leitbar sind.
