Skywave propagation may be an effective communication method for providing low- latency data transmission between a transmitter and a receiver that are separated by a large distance. Although skywave propagation may reduce transmission times compared to other methods of communication such as fiber optic cables and satellite networks, distortion caused by ionospheric and other atmospheric conditions may cause a delay in processing the data signal as the data signal is unscrambled. In some instances, these delays may prove to be costly. For example, orders to buy and sell securities or other financial instruments in world markets, or even news pertinent to trading strategies, typically rely on communications links that carry data and instructions and delays of even a few milliseconds can cost millions of dollars. Therefore, it may be beneficial to have a communication system that that can reduce the effect of distortion caused by ionospheric conditions on skywave propagation.

Methods and arrangements for reporting of measurement information from a user equipment to a receiving entity via a network node comprised in a wireless communication system are disclosed. The embodiments relate to measurement logging function and immediate reporting function called Minimizing Drive Tests (MDT). The problem of reporting measurements in another RAT than in the RAT in which the measurements were collected in is addressed by a solution where a UE includes the measurement information collected in a first RAT in a message which is sent to a network node in a second RAT. The network node then forwards the message to a receiving entity without having to decode the actual content of the measurement log. This is done by introducing the receiving entity's IP address and/or similar addressing information in an address field in the message and using a container structure where the actual measurement log as reported by the UE is placed. Some embodiments involve utilizing the bandwidth of one carrier bandwidth that partially overlaps with the bandwidth of another carrier bandwidth. This overlap may create interference. Different indicators may be utilized to prompt a device, such as a mobile device, to coordinate reverse link transmission blanking on at least one of the carrier bandwidths to increase throughput for the other overlapping carrier bandwidth. For example, a base station may transmit such an indicator to the mobile device to prompt the transmission blanking. Some embodiments also include increasing transmission power for the overlapping carrier bandwidth during the transmission blanking of other carrier bandwidth. Some embodiments utilize flexible carrier bandwidths systems that may utilize portions of spectrum that may not be big enough to fit a normal bandwidth waveform. 1.
