Summary it is suggested a device for lighting, which is applicable in interferometers, spectral, fluorescence and Zweistrahlphotometern as well as in lighting mechanisms for microscopes and from a source of light with shining sheet, collector, field screen, Zwischenblende and condensor lens exists. The shining sheet of the source of light is shown by the collector on the Zwischenblende. A goal of the invention is it to produce in the object level a constant irradiancy. It is present a horizontally arranged, spaltförmige Zwischenblende, whose width exhibits a multiple the width of an actually well-known rod-shaped source of light, which is before-regulatory perpendicularly to the longitudinal axis of the spaltförmigen Zwischenblende and whose height corresponds to a same multiples of the height of the spaltförmigen Zwischenblende. Between the rod-shaped source of light and the spaltförmigen Zwischenblende thereby a collector with a field screen is arranged.

The device has a light source with a luminous arc (1), a collector (2) with a field stop (3), an intermediate stop (4) and a condenser (5). In the event of displacement of the luminous arc (1) into the position (1'), its image (6') is produced in the intermediate stop. By arranging a horizontal gap in the intermediate stop (4) the effective radiance (b'h) therein remains constant. This has the consequence that the radiance in the object plane is independent of the relative position of the luminous arc.
