Levels.-Relates to level gauges for railway &c. track of the kind in which a bar extending between the rails is provided with an angularlyadjustable level and with means for measuring the adjustment of the level relatively to the bar. The bar a is of channel section and the level b is carried therein on a bracket e mounted on a pivot f between lugs g forming part of a casting i. The bracket e is formed with a projection e<1> on which bears a screw pin k threaded through the adjustment device which comprises a screw threaded through a boss l of the casting i. Thehead c of the adjusting-screw is marked with an index co-operating with a circular scale, Fig. 5, marked on the surrounding part of the casting i. For adjustment of zero, the screw k can be turned within the adjustment-screw. A spring m maintains the projection e<1> in engagement with the screw k.
