Hand held shower adapted to provide pulsating or steady flow

A hand held shower (1) including a spray head (2) operable to selectively discharge a continuous spray or cyclically interrupted pulsating spray. The spray head (2) contains two separate groups of discharge orifices, one group to discharge a continuous spray, and the second group to discharge a cyclically interrupted pulsating spray. The spray head (2) comprises a housing (4) forming a chamber (5); a water inlet plate (12) having two sets of supply orifices, a radially outer steady spray set (13, 14) and a radially inner pulsating spray set (15), a face plate (20) having a wall (22) confronting the water inlet plate (12) and having two sets supply perforations therein, a radially outer steady spray set (26, 20) and a radially inner pulsating spray set (29). A spinner (40) having radially extending vanes (43) and a partially closed front end is rotatably mounted in a cylindrical chamber (36). Rotation of the spinner (40) provides a cyclical flow to a group of discharge orifices (66). <IMAGE>
