An educational aid for assisting pupils in learning to count comprises a plurality of counters (10) each having a releasable fastening for detachably attaching the counter 10 to a connecting member (12) whereby one or more of the counters is detachably connectable to another or others of the counters (10) in number groups demonstrating the relationship between tens and units.
