REFRIGERATION CYCLE

PURPOSE: To prevent metal parts from corrosion and protect the compressor from seizure which is due to freeze in a means of controlling the flow-rate of refrigerant, in a refrigeration cycle using a fluorohydrocarbon, such as HFC134a, as refrigerant and an open type compressor, by effectively removing the moisture contained in the refrigeration cycle by absorption by a desiccant.

CONSTITUTION: In a refrigeration cycle composed of a compressor 1, condenser 2, refrigerant flow-rate-controlling means 4, evaporator 5, and piping connecting them, a moisture-removing device 6 to absorb the moisture contained in the refrigeration cycle is provided at an intermediate point in a low-pressure gas line 10 from the evaporator 5 to the compressor 1. As a result, with refrigerant of a fluorohydrocarbon, the content of saturated moisture in the refrigerant in the state of low-pressure gas is smaller than in the state of high-pressure liquid at the outlet of the compressor; thus moisture in the refrigeration cycle is absorbed by the desiccant and effectively removed therefrom.
