Es wird eine kontinuierliche Knetvorrichtung mit einem ein oberen Teilstück (1), mit dem ein Pulverzufuhrrohr (3), durch das abgemessenes Pulver zugeführt wird, verbunden ist, und in dem das Pulver mit einem Fluid vermengt wird, und einem unteren Teilstück (2) vorgesehen, das konzentrisch mit der unteren Seite des oberen Teilstücks (1) verbunden ist. Die kontinuierliche Knetvorrichtung knetet kontinuierlich das Pulver und das Fluid durch eine erste Knetdrehscheibe (10), die in dem oberen Teilstück (1) eingebaut ist, und eine zweite Knetdrehscheibe (11), die in dem unteren Teilstück (2) eingebaut ist, wobei die Oberflächen der Grundmetalle der ersten und der zweiten Knetdrehscheibe (10, 11) mit einem Beschichtungsmaterial (50) zum Verringern der Reibung, wenn das Pulver und das Fluid zusammen geknetet werden, beschichtet sind.

The invention provides synthetic amorphous silica powder which is obtained by subjecting silica powder to a spheroidization treatment followed by rinsing and drying, to yield synthetic amorphous silica powder having an average particle diameter (D50) of 10 to 2000 m, characterized in that the synthetic amorphous silica powder has a theoretic specific surface area of 1.00 to 1.35 calculated by dividing the BET specific surface area by the average particle diameter (D50), a true density of 2.10 to 2.20 g/cm3, a particle internal space ratio of 0 to 0.05, a sphericity of 0.75 to 1.00, and a spheroidization efficiency of 0.55 to 1.00. Since the synthetic amorphous silica powder adsorbs a low amount of gas components on the surface and inside the powder, the synthetic amorphous silica powder can be used to produce synthetic silica glass articles which can avoid the formation of bubbles or swelling to a great extent even when used under an environment of high temperature and reduced pressure.
