AUTOMATIC SEWING APPARATUS
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved automatic sewing apparatus which ensures no fabric deformation is substantially made in regard to a fabric feed device and which also ensures no additional components to be attached to a fabric hinder fabric disturbs clamp processes or fabric feed processes during a sewing operation. SOLUTION: An automatic sewing apparatus for sewing two seams running parallel to each other of a fabric comprises a sewing machine, a fabric feed device for feeding the fabric during the sewing operation, and a seam guide device comprising a guide contour assembly as well as a guide body serving as guide members. The guide body is guided along the guide contour assembly so as to define a seam shape, wherein one of the guide members is rigidly connected to a fabric support plate and the other of the guide members is rigidly connected to the fabric feed device. Furthermore, the guide body can be vertically displaced between at least two guide positions; a first guide position in which the guide body is guided at a first guide distance relative to the guide contour assembly; and a second guide position in which the guide body is guided at a second guide distance larger than the first guide distance relative to the guide contour assembly.
