METHOD FOR THE CONTINUOUS EXTRACTION OF (METH)ACRYLIC ACID
The invention relates to a method for the continuous extraction of (meth)acrylic acid from the reaction gas of catalytic gas phase oxidation. The inventive method comprises the following steps: (I) the reaction gas is quenched by evaporative cooling using a high-boiling solvent; (II) the (meth)acrylic acid is separated from the quenched reaction gas by absorption in the high-boiling solvent; (III) the solvent loaded with (meth)acrylic acid is split into a first partial flow (IIIA) mostly containing (meth)acrylic acid and a second partial flow (IIIB) mostly containing the solvent; (IV) flow (IIIB) is sent back to step (II); and (V) (meth)acrylic acid is extracted from flow (IIIA) by distillation, all remaining liquid flows produced in step (V) being sent back to step (I).
