Accordingly, even in an unparallel structure of nano-wires to electrode lines, a large scale nano-wire array is practicable and applicable to an integrated circuit or display unit with nano-wire alignment difficulty, as well as to device applications using flexible substrates.

A two-photon probe for real-time monitoring of intracellular calcium ions is provided. The two-photon probe is very suitable for real-time imaging of intracellular calcium ions, shows 20-50-fold TPEF enhancement in response to Ca 2+ , has a dissociation constant ( Kd TP ) of 0.14 ± 0.02 to 0.25 ± 0.03 µ M, and emits 5-fold stronger TPEF than currently available one-photon fluorescent Ca 2+ probes. Unlike the previously available probes, the two-photon probe can selectively detect dynamic levels of intracellular free Ca 2+ in live cells and living tissues without interference from other metal ions and from the membrane-bound probes. Moreover, the two-photon probe is capable of monitoring the calcium waves at a depth of 100-300 µm in live tissues for 1,100-4,000 s using two-photon microscopy (TPM) with no artifacts of photo-bleaching. Further provided are a method for preparing the two-photon probe and a method for real-time monitoring of intracellular calcium ions using the two-photon probe.

The radiotherapy system acquires the displacement according to the breathing of a patient using an ultrasonic sensor, and adjusts the location of a moving phantom (i.e., a patient bed) using an inverse value of the acquired displacement, such that it recognizes displacement caused by the natural breathing of the patient, reduces a target volume, and ensures patient safety.

The inventors of the present invention have identified that TRIM72 overexpression inhibits myogenesis whereas TRIM72 knockdown enhances myogenesis, and first elucidated that TRIM72 is a negative regulator of skeletal muscle differentiation. Accordingly, the inhibition of TRIM72 acts exclusively on skeletal muscle and heart muscle, but does not affect IGF-I signaling pathway in other tissues. Therefore, a drug or gene therapy using TRIM72 as a target may be helpful in treating obesity and type 2 diabetes by promoting skeletal muscle differentiation, hypertrophy and energy consumption in adipose tissue and inducing strong muscle by promoting physiological hypertrophy of heart muscle, without cancer or other side effects.

Energy transfer and electron transfer based on surface plasmon resonance increases the number of excitons in the conduction band of the nanotubes or nanowires including the light- emitting polymer, resulting in a remarkable increase in the luminescence intensity of the metal-polymer hybrid nanomaterials. The metal-polymer hybrid nanomaterials are easy to prepare and inexpensive while possessing inherent electrical and optical properties of carbon nanotubes. In addition, the electrical and optical properties of the metal-polymer hybrid nanomaterials can be easily controlled. Based on these advantages, the metal-polymer hybrid nanomaterials can be applied to a variety of optoelectronic devices, including light-emitting diodes, solar cells and photosensors.
