The present invention provides undifferentiated human embryonic stem cells, methods of cultivation and propagation and production of differentiated cells. In particular it relates to the production of human ES cells capable of yielding somatic differentiated cells in vitro, and committed progenitor cells such as neural progenitor cells capable of giving rise to mature somatic cells including neural cells and/or glial cells and uses thereof. The invention also provides methods that generate in vitro and in vivo models of controlled differentiation of ES cells towards the neural lineage. The model, and the cells that are generated along the pathway of neural differentiation may be used for the study of the cellular and molecular biology of human neural development, for the discovery of genes, growth factors, and differentiation factors that play a role in neural differentiation and regeneration, for drug discovery and for the development of screening assays for teratogenic, toxic and neuroprotective effects. 1. A method of generating neural progenitor cells , the method comprising:(a) continuously culturing undifferentiated pluripotent stem cells on a fibroblast feeder layer to generate colonies;(b) selecting from said colonies, small piled, tightly packed, differentiated cells; and(c) culturing said differentiated cells with growth factors to produce neurospheres containing the neural progenitor cells, thereby generating neural progenitor cells.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein said neurospheres do not express alphafetoprotein.3. The method of claim 1 , wherein said continuous culturing is effected for 2-3 weeks.4. For one hand, this method solves problems that the dried fresh jujube slices will be deeply oxidized and brown when dried by the hot air at a high temperature of 90-110° C., the jujube slices with compacted cells will become harder and be difficult to chew because of 6-8 h rapid dehydration. On the other hand, it solves problems that exist in freeze drying at a vacuum degree of 1.3-13 Pa, and at a low temperature of −10-50° C., such as high energy consumption, long processing cycle, high equipment investment, small size of slices, and poor taste.

Disclosed is a hardfacing alloy capable of withstanding service abrasion of the order of silicious earth particles and weldable on industrial products, such as tool joints and stabilizers used in oil and gas well drilling, and other industrial products. The hardfacing alloy has a low coefficient of friction resulting from excellent metal to metal resistance and significant reduction in industrial wear on industrial products, such as casing wear. Other embodiments of the invention include tool joints having the hardbanding alloy welded to the outer cylindrical surface to its box and pin members and to stabilizer ribs on the stabilizer used in earth boring, such as boring for oil and gas, other industrial products, and methods of applying the hardfacing alloy to their surfaces. The hardfacing alloy does not require any post weld treatment, has primary bondes in its microstructure, the carbons in the alloy are tied up in the formation of secondary carbides which add to the abrasion resistance, and have a quadratic crystallographic structure and a hardness of about 1725 Hv comparable to the prior art hardness of the chromium carbide primary carbide alloys of the prior art but is substantially less brittle than C-Cr-Fe hardfacing alloys.
