The invention provides an ectoparasiticidal formulation which comprises an ectoparasiticidal agent, preferably the pyrethroid tetramethrin, as the pesticidally-active ingredient, together with a crystallization inhibitor selected from the group consisting of alkyl-substituted pyrrolidones, and optionally, one or more organic solvents and/or co-solvents. Preferably, the crystallization inhibitor is N-octyl pyrrolidone, and the organic solvent, if present, preferably comprises diethylene glycol monoethyl ether. The ectoparasiticidal formulation surprisingly yields a significantly enhanced speed of kill. Methods for manufacturing the formulation, as well as methods for treating animals infested with ectoparasites, are also disclosed. 1. A method of treating an ectoparasiticidal infestation on an animal , the method comprising topically administering to the animal a composition comprising (a) the pyrethroid tetramethrin , (b) N-octyl pyrrolidone as a crystallization inhibitor , and (b) at least one organic solvent , wherein said composition excludes neonicotinoids , chlorantranilprole and cyantraniliprole.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the pyrethroid tetramethrin is present in an amount from about 1% to about 20% by weight of the overall composition claim 1 , and wherein said crystallization inhibitor is present in an amount from about 1% to about 90% by weight of the overall composition.3. A disinfestation sheet includes a carrier layer with a first and second surface with active pesticidal particles formed therein. The active pesticidal particles contain pesticidal ingredients selected from pyrethroid family or the like. The carrier layer has channels formed therein. The channels form one or more paths between one or more pesticidal particles and at least one of the first and the second surfaces to allow diffusion of the active pesticidal ingredient from the pesticidal particles to at least one of the first and the second surfaces of the carrier layer. The disinfestation sheet may further comprise antioxidant compounds. The disinfestation sheet may also have a base layer attached to the second surface of the carrier layer, an adhesive grip layer attached to the base layer and a support layer attached to the grip layer, where in the support layer is detachable. The carrier layer may also comprise ridges extending outwardly from the second surface. A method of manufacturing a disinfestation sheet comprising the mixing and blow-extrusion of pesticidal and polymer pellets is also defined. 1. A disinfestation sheet , comprising:a carrier layer having a first surface and a second surface,pesticidal particles disposed in the carrier layer, andchannels formed in the carrier layer;wherein the pesticidal particles contain an active pesticidal ingredient, andwherein one or more of the channels form one or more paths between one or more pesticidal particles and at least one of the first and the second surfaces to allow diffusion of the active pesticidal ingredient from the pesticidal particles to at least one of the first and the second surfaces of the carrier layer.2. A synergistic insecticidal composition comprising two components: (A) at least one carbamate insecticide and (B) at least one pyrethroid insecticide is provided. There is also provided a process for preparing the insecticidal composition. A method to prevent, control and/or treat insect infestations in plants, plant parts and/or their surroundings by applying the synergistic insecticidal composition comprising the two components (A) and (B) is also provided. 1. An insecticidal composition comprising at least one carbamate insecticide and at least one pyrethroid insecticide.2. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the carbamate insecticide is selected from methiocarb claim 1 , methomyl claim 1 , oxamyl claim 1 , pirimicarb and thiodicarb.3. The composition according to claim 2 , wherein the carbamate insecticide is methomyl.4. The composition according to claim 1 , wherein the pyrethroid insecticide is selected from cypermethrin claim 1 , bifenthrin claim 1 , esfenvalerate claim 1 , etofenprox and tefluthrin.5.
