The pick is pushed into the center of the braid and will break the braid apart. The comb or brush is used to straighten the hair as the pick breaks the braid apart. The entire process, while usually performed with two hands, can be accomplished with one hand thus making the device easier, less tiring and less expensive than alternative devices currently on the market.

Tongue cleaner and method for manufacturing the same

A tongue cleaner in which a gap between a concavely curved surface formed in a cleaner head and a sheet for covering the same is minimized or eliminated, decreasing the likeliness of tongue coating to accumulate therebetween. The mechanism can alert a user to excessive brushing force by changing shape in response to brushing forces exceeding a predetermined threshold. The plaque detection system also includes a detector configured to receive the fluorescence light for detecting plaque, calculus, and/or caries, and communicating plaque identification information of teeth based on frequency domain lifetime measurements. The modal dispersion is used to detect at least one plaque, calculus, and or caries fluorescence area on the teeth. The plaque fluorescence area detected with modal dispersion includes different levels of plaque with respect to a center point of the plaque fluorescence area. Thus, a plaque detection signal depends on a radial distance from the center point of the plaque fluorescence area. 1. A personal hygiene system includes a personal hygiene device having a receiver unit, a control unit, and a functional unit; and a separate control device having a transmitter unit. The control unit drives the functional unit in at least one of a first functional mode and a second functional mode different from the first functional mode. The control unit inhibits provision of the second functional mode while the control unit is in a default state. The transmitter unit sends at least a first signal to the receiver unit of the personal hygiene device when the separate control device is switched from a default control mode to a first control mode. The control unit can be switched from the default state into a first state when the first signal is received by the receiver unit, in which first state the control unit permits provision of the second functional mode at least during a first allowance period.

An oral care implement is provided having a head frame and a cleaning elements assembly attached thereto with tooth cleaning elements extending from one or more carriers. One or more central carriers can be suspended via a flexible bridge between a pair of support carriers attached to the head frame. The bridge may be formed from an elastomer and permit the one or more central carriers to move from an initial position toward the head frame during use. The bridge may include rigid supports and flexible elastomeric supports. The carriers and the bridge can be formed as a unitary assembly attached to the head frame, such as via mechanical connections. The mechanical connections could include snap-fit connections.

A brush hanging system for efficiently and safely hanging a brush from another object such as a paint can. The brush hanging system generally includes a brush such as a paint brush. The brush includes a groove formed within the body of the brush, such as on its handle or any other position other than its bristles. A hanger rod is pivotally connected within the groove, with the hanger rod being adapted to selectively engage or disengage with the rim of an object such as a paint can. When extended, the hanger rod engages with the rim to removably secure the brush against the object. When retracted, the hanger rod is completely positioned within the groove in a flush or recessed configuration. Both the groove and hanger rod each comprise distinct segments which ensure that the hanger rod may pivot within the groove and engage with the rim. 1. In one exemplary embodiment, after an oral hygiene device is orientated, a determination is made as to a segment within the individual's mouth that a brush head of the oral hygiene device is located. Upon this determination being made, a sub-segment within the individual's mouth where the brush head is located is also determined. A brushing performance within the sub-segment is calculated and displayed to the user. A level of compliance for the particular segment is determined based on the brushing performance of the various sub-segments within the particular segment. If the level of compliance exceeds a pre-set compliance level for that segment, the individual is guided to a different segment within their mouth for brushing. 1.
