A combination blind and curtain fitting arrangement

A fixing arrangement for fitting a blind 12 and a curtain 30 to a window or door having a fixing member 10 which may be in the form of a housing 10 for a roller blind 12 and a curtain rail or track 18 which is integral or adapted for integration with the blind fixing member 10. The fixing member may be formed of at least two parts, one part of which connects the fitting member to a wall within or above a reveal of a window or door and another part of which is integrated with the curtain rail or track. The position of the curtain rail or track may be movable forwards or rearwards relative to the fixing member. The arrangement may comprise side and/or bottom rails for the blind, each of which may have seals to seal the blind to a wall. This enables both the blind and the curtain rail/track to be fitted to the wall above the window or door, outside the window or door reveal, in a neat, aesthetically pleasing manner without the curtain rail/track interfering with the blind.

In one arrangement a fascia having a front plate and a bottom plate includes a track positioned in the forward lower end of the fascia. The fascia is configured to be attached to a plurality of brackets. One or more roller shades having roller shade material attached to a tube are connected to the brackets. A plurality of carriers are positioned in the track and one or more draperies are attached to the plurality of carriers in the track. This arrangement presents a dual functioning window shade wherein roller shade material may be opened and closed by raising and lowering the roller shade material by rotating the tube of the roller shades raised, and the drapery shade material may be opened and closed by sliding the drapery shade material along the length of the track.

Two-part magnetic mounting bracket

A mounting bracket for supporting curtains or blinds is made up of two parts which are magnetically attachable. A first part 5 comprises a generally planar body that is affixed to a vertical surface 13 by means of screws 1. A recess in the body accommodates a permanent magnet 2. A second part forms a break away portion and comprises a body 9 with a recess accommodating a magnetically attractive material 7 that co-acts with magnet 2. Body 9 has an upper portion (11, fig 2) extending at right angles to it which serves as a support arm for various articles. Both parts have mating surfaces, with the first part having a lip 6 engaging with a lug 10 on the second part such that these two elements act together as a hinge and provide additional vertical support. A cut-out 4 on the first part engages with a protrusion 8 on the second part to resist torsional movement. The bracket is arranged to support a structure but will yield if excessive load is used. The bracket may be used for supporting a shower head or light fittings. The assembly is intended for use in places where suicide attempts may be made since it does not offer any facility for hanging any large mass.

A mounting bracket (130A,130B) may include a channel (138) configured to secure the roller tube in position along a longitudinal axis of the roller tube. A mounting bracket (130A,130B) may include a base (132) and an attachment member (134). The base may be configured to attach the mounting bracket (130A,130B) to a structure. The attachment member may extend from the base (132) and may be configured to receive an end of a roller tube. The mounting bracket (130A,130B) may be configured to retain electrical wiring (180) for powering a drive assembly within the roller tube. The mounting bracket (130A,130B) may include a spring (170) that is configured to retain the roller tube within the channel (138) in the mounting bracket (130A,130B). The mounting bracket (130A,130B) may include a sliding cover (136) that is configured to cover an access opening of the channel.

A mounting bracket and system are provided for attaching window treatments to windows, the mounting bracket having an arm with a proximal end and a distal end having a first mounting member for supporting a curtain rod, the proximal end having a second mounting member for supporting blinds, and the proximal end having a third mounting member for supporting a roller shade. The distal end is offset laterally or vertically or both laterally and vertically from the proximal end. A window treatment system utilizes the mounting bracket to attach the curtain rods, blinds, and roller shades to the area adjacent a window.
