The cylinder 11 encloses a piston 14, having coloured bands thereon, which is urged towards one end of the cylinder 11 by a spring 15. The other end 12 of the cylinder 11 is in communication with an annular extension 13a of chamber 13 which contains the dust bag. The extension 13a is defined by a partition 16 on the free end of which is mounted the fan and motor assembly. As the dust bag is filled, the pressure in extension 13a reduces thereby moving the piston so as to display a different colour at the window 3a.

The compressor comprises a first inlet, a first outlet located downstream of the first inlet, a second inlet located downstream of the first outlet, and a second outlet located downstream of the second inlet. The vibration isolation mount creates a restriction between the compressor and housing such that fluid exiting the first outlet re-enters the compressor via the second inlet. An impeller may be located between the first inlet and first outlet. Fluid flowing between the second inlet and second outlet may cool components of a motor which drives the impeller. The components may be electrical windings or a power switch. The mount may create first and second seals between the compressor and housing, the first seal being between the first inlet and first outlet, and the second seal being between the second inlet and second outlet.

A hand vacuum cleaner comprising:a) a main body comprising a fluid flow motor;b) a first cyclonic cleaning stage having first and second spaced apart ends and comprising a cyclone chamber, the cyclone chamber having first and second spaced apart ends, a dirty fluid inlet located at a front end of the hand vacuum cleaner and a clean fluid outlet;c) a handle comprising a handle portion that extends upwardly when the hand vacuum cleaner is positioned on a horizontal surface wherein the handle portion is positioned rearward of the first cyclonic cleaning stage whereby a portion of the cyclone chamber is positioned between the dirty fluid inlet and the handle portion; and,d) a wand mounted to the dirty fluid inlet, the wand having a distal inlet that is mounted on a surface cleaning head.2. The hand vacuum cleaner of wherein an end of the handle is mounted to the hand vacuum cleaner at a position adjacent an upper end of the first cyclonic cleaning stage.3. A vacuum cleaner comprising a cyclonic separating apparatus including a dirty air inlet, a main body connected to the cyclonic separating apparatus and a motor and fan unit for generating an airflow through the cyclonic separating apparatus from the dirty air inlet to a clean air outlet, wherein the cyclonic separating apparatus includes at least a first cyclonic cleaning stage and an elongate filter arranged fluidly downstream from the first cyclonic cleaning stage, the elongate filter being housed in a duct at least partially surrounded by the first cleaning stage, and wherein the filter comprises an inlet portion and a filter portion defining a generally tubular filter chamber, the inlet portion including one or more radially facing inlets to permit air to flow into the inlet portion in a radial direction from where the air flows from the inlet portion to the filter chamber in an axial direction. 1. The invention discloses a system for vacuuming waste having a motor module and a waste module. The motor module has an open receiving area, motor, battery, vacuum tube receiving area and handle. Multiple bag hooks are spaced along the open receiving area. Disposable bags, having a drawstring within a channel, are placed within the waste module. The drawstring has a length greater than the bag perimeter to form multiple bag loops that extend through gaps in the channel. An insert maintains the bags in an open position.
