An illuminating hockey puck and hockey goal monitoring system is provided. The hockey puck comprises a standard size hockey puck with an imbedded RF receiver, electrical circuit, and a power source therein. The present invention is directed to a target detection apparatus which attaches to a purpose-built or existing golf target placed on a driving range, golf course or other golfing facility for purposes of play or competition, whereby players attempt to hit their golf ball at or into the target. The invention enhances the targets functionality by enabling it to provide near instant feedback to players and others that it has been hit. Through the use of a sensor and indicator system, the target of a preferred embodiment can sense a golf ball hitting it or landing in it and draw the attention of the player or others through an indicator, which is currently a LED array. At least one transparent member is received through the slot, and has a configuration so that at least a portion of the edge is visible through the transparent member. A method of assembling a portable fenced-in ball playing area that includes a plurality of panels that have an upward slot on one end of the panel and a downward slot at the other end of the panel. A throwing disc, goal apparatus, and game are provided. A disc includes a central hub with blades projecting equiangularly from the hub. The blades are circumscribed by and joined to an outer perimeter ring that aids in throwing. The blades of the disc act as airfoils and impart unique flight characteristics to the disc. A goalpost is comprised of two vertical sections, joined by a horizontal cross-bar located above the midline of the vertical sections, and supported by a rectangular frame oriented perpendicularly to the vertical sections.
