This invention provides a system and method for aligning, feeding, trimming, slitting, rotating, cross-slitting and stacking sheets, each containing one or more discrete page images thereon that allows for greater automation of the overall process so that reduced or no manual intervention is required to generate completed book stacks or “blocks” from a stream or stack of printed sheets. Sheets are fed to a first, upstream trimming station to remove margin edges and optionally separate the sheets relative to the discrete page images. The sheets are then rotated 90 degrees and fed to a second, downstream trimming station that trims the right-angle edges and optionally separates the sheets into a final group of full-bleed pages, removing margins and gutter strips. The sheets are fed to a stacking assembly to be tacked in page order and any rejected, defective sheets or stacks are removed from the order.

Unattached elastic portions of an elasticised web are grasped and raised above a support surface for feeding the elasticised web. The raised portions are brought into contact with a knife blade that is positioned to protrude through the thickness of the raised elastic layer into free space so as to remain spaced from the support surface that is moving beneath the blade in a direction normal to the support surface. A sheet material primarily fabric is cut by providing a substantially cylindrical wire defining a cutting line lying between a top roller and a bottom roller mounted on a carriage arranged to run along the wire with the wire located in a nip of the rollers. A material conveying system comprising:a frame having a top surface;a mounting slot formed in the frame and including an opening at the top surface of the frame; anda deflectable lifting device comprising a securing base and a bendable arm extending from the securing base, the securing base having a size, shape, and contour that is generally complementary to the mounting slot, the securing base being disposed in the mounting slot, wherein the bendable arm extends from the securing base, away from the mounting slot, and above the top surface of the frame, the bendable arm configured to exert sufficient lift to elevate a sheet of material off of the top surface of the frame.2. A cutting apparatus comprises: a first pusher for pushing and conveying the left side of the cut large sheet block, of which two adjacent reference sides that have been jogged as an upper side and a left side are placed on the cutting apparatus, toward the right side direction; a second cutting means for cutting the right side of the large sheet block pushed and conveyed by the first pusher and sequentially cutting the right end of the large sheet block while interacting with the pushing conveyance by the first pusher to divide the sheet into long column unit blocks in the up-and-down direction; a right side removal means for removing the remaining portion after the right side cutting by the second cutting means; a column unit block conveyance means for conveying the column unit blocks in the right side direction while maintaining a predetermined interval thereamong; a second pusher for pushing and conveying the upper sides of the cut column unit blocks toward the lower side direction; a fourth cutting means for cutting the lower side of the column unit block pushed and conveyed by the second pusher and sequentially cutting the lower end of the column unit block into small blocks while interacting with the pushing conveyance by the second pusher; and a lower side removal means for removing the remaining portion after the lower side cutting by the fourth cutting means. 1. A method for creating and using a repositionable adhesive coated slip sheet is described herein. This repositionable adhesive coated slip sheet attaches to a worktable and temporarily anchors a substrate and its cutouts while the substrate is cut. The method principally comprises the steps of placing a layer of adhesive onto the top surface of a binding layer, placing the binding layer onto a worktable, placing a substrate onto the layer of adhesive, cutting the substrate with a blade, and then removing the cut substrate from the layer of adhesive, wherein the parts cut therefrom are prevented from moving, slipping, or falling off of the worktable during the cutting process. A method for cutting a substrate , comprising:preparing a stage having a rectangular shape with four edges, the stage having a row of reference pin installation grooves positioned adjacent solely and exclusively to one entire edge of the four edges of the stage and a plurality of suction holes uniformly distributed in rows and columns adjacent to the row of reference pin installation grooves, and reference pins inserted into the row of reference pin installation grooves and partially projecting from an upper surface of the stage;loading a substrate on the stage;pushing the substrate toward the reference pins such that only an upper end of one side of the substrate is supported at one side of each of the reference pins to align the substrate on the stage;forming a vacuum pressure between the stage and the substrate to fix the substrate to the stage; andcutting the fixed substrate by using a cutting portion provided on an upper portion of the stage,wherein the reference pin includes an insertion end which is inserted into the reference pin installation groove and a projection end which is formed to extend from the insertion end and project from an upper surface of the stage, andwherein the projection end supports one side of the substrate, and an upper end of the reference pin is formed to project further toward the substrate than a lower end of the reference pin.2. A hole punch assembly includes two locating features for forming holes in a trim piece overlying a metal sheet with ridges formed therein. One locating feature is a groove into which one of the ridges is insertable. The other locating feature is a portion of the outer surface configured such that, when one of the ridges in in the groove and the trim piece contacts the portion of the outer surface, a punch is positioned to form a hole in the trim piece. 1. A hole punch assembly comprising:a body having an outer surface, said outer surface having first, second, third, and fourth surface portions;said body defining a hole that extends through the first surface portion and the second surface portion;a punch having a head and a tip, said punch being partially within the hole and movable between a retracted position in which the tip is within the hole and the punch does not protrude from the second surface portion, and an extended position in which punch protrudes from the second surface portion and the tip is outside the hole;wherein the third surface portion is generally perpendicular to the second surface portion; andwherein the fourth surface portion is generally perpendicular to the third surface portion and defines a groove.2. Systems and methods utilizing stationary and/or moveable cutting components provide limited interference with web processing operations, such as pad spin and pitch alteration. Heat, laser, fluid, or mechanical cutting operations may be used, including respectively, a heated element (e.g., wire, ribbon, bar, or embossing or perforating element) that may be triggered inductively, water or steam jets, or improved knife/anvil cooperation. 1. A system for processing a web of material , the system comprising:a rotating body carrying a metallic element and carrying a web of material;an induction field;said rotating body rotated about an axis and said metallic element carried through said induction field at a web alteration zone;said induction field acting upon said metallic element; andsaid metallic element contacting said web of material in said web alteration to alter said web of material from a first condition to a second condition.2.
