A novel mobile self-contained stone-making and cement-forming factory comprises, in general, four main components, namely (1) a power plant, (2) a receptacle for receiving local aggregate, (3) a batching module for mixing aggregate with cementitious material and water and for feeding the batch to a compression station and (4) the compression station for compressing the batch into a stone, block, paver, tile, brick or other stone-type product of variable size, colour, and surface finish. These main four components are supported together on a trailer or other portable frame that can be towed or otherwise transported to the construction site. Optional compression plates can be provided to produce customized double-faced stone products. The mobile factory-enables efficient, inexpensive, onsite manufacturing of a broad range of different stone products.

Concrete units for wall facing plates, slabs, building plates and purlins resistant to rain water and temps below freezing, are made by (a) casting concrete, if necessary with vibration, in a mould with a smooth surface using a comparatively rich mixture and fine-grained additives (a) at least in area near the smooth surface, (b) leaving concrete unit in mould for 1-5 (2-4) days so that the surface layers of the unit lying by the smooth mould wall are hardened to an extent such that they can be lifted from mould surface without leaving marks and (c) coating the concrete unit surface cast near the smooth mould wall with a hard, vitreous, weatherproof plastic layer. Pref. mould surface is made of glass, plastic such as polyvinyl chloride, silicone rubber, acrylic, polyester, polystyrene or polyethylene plastic or a polished metal inert to cement. Pref. plastic coating consists of epoxy resin, silicone polyester, acrylic or polyurethane plastic, more pref. admixed with a pigment or metal powder such as Cu, Al or alloy, such as Cu bronze.

The system is used for removing mud from tracked vehicles, including tanks, prior to travelling on public roads. It consists of a series of prefabricated reinforced concrete panels with corrugated upper surfaces to shake the mud from the tracks as the vehicles pass over them. The upper surface of each panel has a series of alternating curved crests (7) and troughs (8), and is covered with a wear surface of constant thickness. The edges of the panels have hooks for connecting them together to form a large surface area. The panels are made in moulds, using high-performance concrete reinforced with steel bars, expanded metal mesh and silica fibres. The distance between the crests and troughs of the corrugations is some 0.12 m. Each panel measures, for example, 2.40 m wide by 5.00 m long and 0.25 - 0.35 m thick.
