The thickness of the layers and the compression may be adjusted to optimise sound absorbing, thermal insulation or stiffness. The thickness of the resin on one face of the fibre mat may be different to that on the other. The board may be used as the outer layer of a laminate comprising a central layer of heat or sound absorbing material such as cork, wood or paper honeycomb and the resin coating of the fibre mat may be cured at the final stage of assembly to make an adhesive bond between the core and the mats. The fibre mat may be made up of cross-lapped layers of aligned natural fibres which are consolidated by needle punching.

A composite board formed by a metal substrate connected to a decorative outer layer and a method for manufacturing the same are revealed. A first thermoplastic rubber (TPR) adhesive layer synthesized by butadiene-styrene block copolymer and hydrocarbon petroleum resin is disposed on the metal substrate by hot press. A part of the first TPR adhesive layer with a thickness of 40-50 μm is infiltrated into micro concave holes on the metal substrate. A second TPR adhesive layer is attached to the decorative outer layer by a roller without being infiltrated into micro holes on the decorative outer layer. Then the metal substrate and the decorative outer layer are treated by hot press laminating to form an integral composite board due to the first and the second TPR adhesive layers connected tightly. The composite board is deep processed to produce a housing with good strength and beautiful appearance.

Preferably such absorbent structure volume increases are result of temporary secondary attachment patterns made in combination with substantially permanent primary attachment grids allowing the release of bigger volumes from the initial smaller volumes by detachment of the secondary attachments. Furthermore the absorbent structure according to an embodiment of the invention non-homogeneously swells to form a liquid-managing surface structure as a result of exposing the absorbent structure to liquid. The present invention foresees in the need for improved flexible, thin, lightweight absorbent structures which overcome the absorbency problems of the prior art during absorption, distribution and retention of liquids with optimal fit.

A template made of plywood or similar material is inserted into a cover for a protective helmet so that the cover is stretched and once the template is inserted the assembled combination of the cover and the template resembles the shape of a disk. The disk-shaped assembly is placed on top of the bottom plate of a heat press. A layer with a decal or sticker is placed on top of the disk-shaped assembly. A heat press cover sheet is then placed on top of the disk-shaped assembly so that it also becomes into contact with the top plate of the heat press when the heat press is closed. The heat press may be set to a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit and it can be set in a closed position for about 30 seconds in order to transfer sufficient heat so that the decal or sticker is applied or affixed to the cover surface. 1. A method for applying patches to a helmet cover , the method comprising:inserting a template into a cover for a protective helmet so that the cover is stretched and once the template is inserted into the cover it forms a disk-shaped assembly;placing the disk-shaped assembly on top of a bottom plate of a heat press;placing a patch on top of the disk-shaped assembly;placing a heat press cover sheet on top of the disk-shaped assembly;pulling down an upper plate of the heat press so that the heat press cover sheet makes contact with the upper plate of the heat press when the heat press is closed; andpulling up the upper plate.2. The present invention relates to an absorbent structure, preferably for use in absorbent products, such as used in the food, consumer, household, building and construction, beauty and medical industry, and as used in the personal hygiene industry. The substantially cellulose free absorbent structures continuously immobilise absorbent polymer material via initial smaller pockets and subsequently larger compartments allowing excellent fluid management of the absorbent polymer material in dry, partially and fully liquid loaded state. Preferably such absorbent structure volume increases are result of temporary secondary attachment patterns made in combination with substantially permanent primary attachment grids allowing the release of bigger volumes from the initial smaller volumes by detachment of the secondary attachments. Furthermore the absorbent structure according to an embodiment of the invention non-homogeneously swells to form a liquid-managing surface structure as a result of exposing the absorbent structure to liquid. The present invention foresees in the need for improved flexible, thin, lightweight absorbent structures which overcome the absorbency problems of the prior art during absorption, distribution and retention of liquids with optimal fit.

A method for making cards with a given appearance comprising the steps of:selecting a decorative layer, wherein said decorative layer is an embossed animal derived material veneer layer; andselecting a core for forming the body of said card, said core layer having first and second surfaces; said core layer comprising one of: (a) metal; (b) ceramic coated metal; (c) ceramic coated polymer, or (d) solid ceramic, andattaching said decorative layer to the first surface of the core layer.59. The method of claim 58 , wherein the step of attaching said decorative and core layers includes laminating the layers.60. The method of claim 58 , further comprising attaching a polymeric layer to the second surface of the core layer.61. The present invention provides multilayer films comprising thermoplastic starch and articles formed therefrom. In one embodiment, a multilayer film comprises (a) a first layer comprising from 50 to 100 percent by weight of a linear low density polyethylene having a density less than 0.930 g/cm 3 and a melt index (I 2 ) of 2 g/10 minutes or less, (b) a second layer comprising from 50 to 100 percent by weight of a linear low density polyethylene having a density less than 0.930 g/cm 3 and a melt index (I 2 ) of 2 g/10 minutes or less, and (c) a third layer positioned between the first and second layer, wherein the third layer comprises at least 10 percent by weight of a thermoplastic starch and up to 90 percent by weight of a linear low density polyethylene having a density less than 0.920 g/cm 3 and a melt index (I 2 ) of 2 g/10 minutes or less, wherein the thickness of the third layer comprises at least 30% percent of the thickness of the multilayer film.

The disclosure relates to containers and other shaped articles that have a relatively thick substrate layer and one or more relatively thin liner sheets peelably adhered thereto. Animal litter can be placed atop the liner sheets, preferably in a concave portion to contain the litter. The liner sheets have perforations extending therethrough that permit the passage of non-soiled litter, but do not permit the passage of at least one of animal feces and soiled animal litter, such as clumps of litter and urine. After an animal has deposited waste on or in the litter, the liner sheet can be peeled from the container and waste unable to pass through the perforations can be collected. 1.
