A vehicular energy management system (EMS) determines a net total power from a traction drive load, an auxiliary device load, and a regenerative power. If the net total power is a net supply power, the EMS causes regenerative power to be provided to a power source and energy source in a controlled manner to initially charge the power source to a desired state-of-charge (SOC) and then subsequently charge the energy source. If the net total power comprises a net power load, the EMS causes power to be drawn from the power source and the energy source, with a split of the power being drawn from the power source and the energy source being based on a magnitude of the net power load. By using power line communications, chargers of the electric vehicles who are serviced by the same distribution transformer can form self-contained local area networks due to the nature of power line communications (PLCs). Alternatively, or in addition to the PLCs, other communication networks, such as the Internet and local area networks, may be used as part of the communications infrastructure for the chargers. After the chargers of the electric vehicles are coupled to one another through power line communications or traditional communications networks, they can form a logical token ring network. There is provided an in-vehicle power source device having favorable workability for replacing a fuse that melts down when an overcurrent flows to an electric load. A battery selector switch having a current detecting function, a main relay having current detecting function, a bypass relay for bypassing the battery selector switch , and a bypass fuse to melt down when an overcurrent flows to a second electric load are provided. The bypass fuse is deployed outside of a case for storing a second power source , the bypass fuse and the second power source are connected in series, and when currents detected by the battery selector switch and the main relay are equal to or greater than a predetermined value, the battery selector switch and the main relay are turned off and the bypass relay is closed. 1. An in-vehicle power source device comprising:a first power source and a second power source for providing power to at least one electric load;a first opening-closing switch provided along a feed line between the electric load and the first power source;a second opening-closing switch provided along a feed line between the electric load and the second power source;a bypass switch for bypassing the first opening-closing switch; and a fuse to melt down when an overcurrent flows to the electric load; the in-vehicle power source device further comprisinga current detector for detecting a current flowing the electric load, whereinthe fuse is deployed outside of a case for storing the second power source,the fuse and the bypass switch are connected in series, andwhen a current detected by the current detector is equal to or greater than an a predetermined value, the first opening-closing switch and the second opening-closing switch are turned off and the bypass switch is turned on.2. The instructions further comprise reducing compressor cut-in and cut-out pressure thresholds for an on-board air compressor motor to conserve state-of-charge until the pitch of the vehicle falls below a predetermined level, and, once the pitch of the vehicle falls below a predetermined percentage of the maximum pitch detected on the uphill grade, increasing the compressor cut-in and cut-out pressure thresholds to increase available braking pressure and brake regeneration opportunities for the vehicle.

An electric power is surely supplied to a load even if an abnormality is generated in a switching control circuit, which controls a switching part that switches electric connection between a power supply and the load of a vehicle. The switching control circuit controls a state of a contact of a keep relay that switches the electric connection between the power supply and the load. A monitor circuit monitors existence or non-existence of the abnormality of the switching control circuit. When detecting the abnormality of the switching control circuit, the monitor circuit transmits a reset signal in order to reset a state of the switching control circuit. When receiving the reset signal from the monitor circuit, an abnormal-time connection circuit transmits a connection signal to a coil of the keep relay to bring a movable contact into contact with a contact. For example, the present invention can be applied to a power-supply control device for the vehicle.

The method includes determining a current driving condition of the vehicle, what actuators are necessary in order to put the vehicle into a safe operating condition, and what each of the necessary actuator dynamics are based on the current driving condition of the vehicle. The method includes determining a demand for electrical energy that is necessary for a particular necessary actuator to attain the safe operating condition, and regulating a proportionate generator operation of the electric main engine, taking into consideration electrical energy of the necessary actuators required for carrying out each of the necessary actuator dynamics. The method includes activating the actuators necessary for achieving the safe operating condition with the determined actuator dynamics until the safe operating condition is achieved.

When cooling is performed, the plus-side temperature width is made greater than the minus-side temperature width. Also, the plus-side temperature width is narrowed with elapse of time from the start of pre-air-conditioning.
