The tank is symmetrical about a central axis (D), and consists of a number of circular arcs with different radii (R1 - R7) or alternatively a curve of varying radius of curvature. A tanker with such a cross-section has its centre of gravity lower than a circular section tank of the same cross-sectional area. The nominal free surface of the liquid (A) is at a height (h) below the top of the tank such that the tanker conforms with French regulations i.e. that 3% or more of the cross-section arcs should be above the liquid surface, and that a volume change of 1/1000 th of nominal volume should cause a change of surface height of at least 3 mm.

A wall structure of a trailer box (10) is constructed from a plurality of panels (36, 38, 40) which are welded together where their edges meet. The panels (36, 38, 40) are each extrusions and each includes thin side skins (42, 44) and thin webs (46, 48, 50). The edge regions that are connected together include thickened portions that dissipate a substantial amount of the heat provided by the welds (56, 58). A plurality of panels (36, 38, 40) are welded together to form a large wall structure (WS). This wall structure (WS) is then reconfigured by a roll-forming machine (Fig: 8-10) to provide a box (10) having a longitudinally straight and laterally curved configuration. Laterally considered, the box (10) has a concave inner side and a convex outer side. This shape of the box provides the box with both sidewalls and a bottom. The overall construction of the trailer box is lightweight and quite strong and facilitates construction of the truck/trailer box.

A tank wagon for liquid material has interior partitions with dampeners to counteract movement and kenetic energy of the material with respect to the tank in one direction only. In this way, energy can be withdrawn from the liquid material movement during braking for instance, to mitigate adverse effects of such movement. In the embodiment detailed, partitions having openings are closed by hinged flaps during braking. Normally the flaps are gravity-urged to an open position. The tank can be composed of two compartments with different cross sections and length so that a lower and smaller compartment is located directly above a set of wheels. The larger compartment is contiguous with the upper part of the smaller compartment and is angled upwardly and forwardly. Thus, the lowermost portion of the larger compartment can be at the approximate level of the wheel axes.

A portable fluid storage system for use during frac jobs or other operations requiring storage of water or other fluids. The system comprises a lower chamber and an upper chamber sized to fit within the lower chamber. A lift system, such as screw jacks or rack and pinion gears, is disposed to move the lower chamber from a collapsed position to an extended position where the upper chamber is positioned above the lower chamber. A seal is disposed to engage the upper chamber and the lower chamber when the system is in the extended position. The upper chamber, the seal, and the lower chamber form a water tight compartment when the system is in the extended position. The system is transported as a traditional frac tank with a tractor or other truck. When positioned for use, the storage system is expanded to hold twice as much fluid as a traditional tank.

A transport device for hauling a load having a front axle with a pair of wheels and a rear axle with a pair of wheels. Four vertical hydraulic cylinders are provided, each cylinder having a bottom end supported on one of the axles adjacent a wheel, respectively. A pair of yokes are provided. Each yoke has one end supported by the ram extending from the top of one cylinder mounted on the front axle and the other end supported by the ram extending from the top end of a cylinder on the rear axle so that the yokes are parallel to one another and extend from front to rear of the device. A container containing the load is suspended from the pair of yokes. In one version, the device is coupled for transport to a truck. In another version, an engine is mounted on a cantilever frame extending from the rear of the truck controlled by operators in a cab mounted on the front end of the device. FIELD: transportation. SUBSTANCE: subject of invention is tank for transportation of liquid and elimination of its return empty. Liquid transportation tank comprises horizontal cylindrical boiler installed on vehicle, divided by vertical transverse partition into two compartments with necks and drain branch pipes. Vertical transverse partition is made in the form of a stocking from elastic material, on the open side of which there is a means of fixing it on the inner surface of the boiler. Stocking is located along one compartment with possibility of turning inside out when moving into another compartment. Fixing device of stocking inside boiler is made in the form of flanging with horizontal shell, commensurate with diameter of internal surface of boiler, note here that glue, e.g. 25831 Permatex, is applied on outer surface of shell ring and inner surface of the boiler. Means for securing the stocking inside the boiler is made in the form of a vacuum sucker with a nipple connected to the vacuum source. Surface of stocking is made flat or with transverse corrugations, and in point of its fixation in boiler annular air chamber is formed. Fixing device of stocking inside boiler is made in form of welded on inner surface of boiler support ring with pins installed radially or horizontally, on which the flanging of the stocking and the hold-down ring pressed by the nuts with the bending washers to the support ring are worn with holes. Support and pressure rings radially cut into two-three parts to move them into boiler, and parts of support ring are fixed inside boiler and inner surface of boiler and seam by tight welded seam. The present invention is directed to a portable storage and supply tank of industrial size for the storage and dispensing of various fluids including those containing potentially environmentally and/or health hazardous components wherein the fluid storage tank is permanently mounted to its own trailer on its bottom surface to eliminate the need for the laborious, time consuming and potentially dangerous processes required to mount and dismount the prior art tanks onto the flatbed haulers. The use of these wheeled storage tanks therefore eliminates the need to mount and dismount the tanks onto and off wheeled flatbeds by chains or other laborious and potentially dangerous fastening means and vastly reduces the manpower and man hours associated with these processes and the need for additional specialized machinery to aid in the mounting and dismounting process. The ease of installation and removal associated with the wheeled, fluid storage tanks also helps to dramatically reduce the trucking and transport costs; dramatically reduce driver exposure time on highway and location, reduced trip and slip hazards and reduce or eliminate environmental spill hazards.
