There is disclosed a door-frame hook, for enabling a load strap, attached to a vehicle rooftop load carrier, to engage a door frame of the vehicle to secure the load carrier when the load strap is tightened. The hook may be anchored onto a frame ridge of the door frame and in part, covered by a sealer attached to the door frame. The door-frame hook of the invention may, advantageously, remain in position, between the frame-ridge of the door frame and the sealer potter, regardless of the degree of tightness of the load strap or the degree of its pull on the hook, as well as when the load strap is unattached. Moreover, it does not harm the door sealer nor does it interfere in any way with its sealing function or with the shutting action of the door.

Vehicle identification and guidance systems and associated methods

Identification and guidance systems configured to facilitate vehicle management in logistics yards or the like are described. The systems can include an identification and guidance (I/G) unit attached to each transport vehicle within the logistics yard. The I/G unit transmits information (e.g., location and guidance information) over a wireless network to a remote controller. The remote controller can transmit relevant information received from the I/G unit to a portable communications device associated with the transport vehicle to which the JIG unit is mounted. For example, the portable communications device may be located in a tractor being used to maneuver the transport vehicle about the logistics yard so that the driver can use the information displayed on the portable communications device to assist with maneuvering the transport vehicle. Related methods are also described.

Vehicle Mountable Carrier System

In one series of embodiments, a carrier system includes a rack mountable on a vehicle to transport material. The rack includes a frame having one or more suction cups attached to the rear side of the frame, e.g., for attachment to a surface such as the side of the vehicle. A support bar mates with the frame. The support bar and the frame may include attachment configurations which mate with one another to selectively and securely attach the bar to the front side of the frame with the bar extending in a direction away from the one or more cups. METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR ALIGNING A REMOVABLE SENSOR ON A VEHICLE

A method for aligning a removable sensor on a vehicle includes connecting the removable sensor to a sensor mounting device. The method further includes connecting a connector of an alignment apparatus to either (i) the removable sensor such that a spatial reference component of the alignment apparatus has a known position and orientation relative to a current position and orientation of the removable sensor or (ii) a fixed connection location on the vehicle such that the spatial reference component indicates a desired position and orientation of the removable sensor. In addition the method includes adjusting the current position and orientation of the removable sensor by reference to the alignment apparatus to cause the current position and orientation of the removable sensor to match the desired position and orientation of the removable sensor. 1.
