The fabric element may be in the form of a tube (4) extending into the interior of the air-bag. The clamp may either retain the free end of the tube or a strap may be provided on the tube. In an alternative arrangement the fabric element may be provided by a flap, covering the vent, provided on the interior of the air-bag. Preferably the sensor is adapted to sense the weight and/or the position of a seat occupant and/or whether they are wearing a seat belt to allow the "softness" of the air-bag to be adjusted accordingly. Preferably the airbag restraint is made from two discs of a woven nylon fabric stitched together around their periphery and has a relatively rigid disc of material bonded to the front disc to provide a base for the bursting devices which may be eight sharp spikes 24. Advantageously the airbag restraint provides a device which prevents the unintentional deployment of a vehicle steering wheel airbag in operations such as emergency and rescue.

The sheet metal insert also divides the fuel into two portions, whereby a smaller fuel portion is located closer to the ignition openings of an ignition device while the larger fuel portion is located further away from the ignition device. The divider or insert provides a passage or gas flow openings which are so located that the combustion gas generated in the smaller section must flow entirely through the smaller section before it enters into the larger section. Thus, the smaller fuel portion is combusted substantially first and the larger fuel portion is combusted thereafter to provide an inflation characteristic for the safety bag such that the bag is initially filled slower and then rapidly.

A global positioning signal based learned control event prediction method and apparatus includes a learning auxiliary module connected to a communication bus of a vehicle. The arrangement stores events and event locations using global positioning signals for a vehicle traveling along a path. Various embodiments of vehicle occupant safety systems having extendable restraints for use with, for example, airbags are described herein. In one embodiment, for example, the disclosed technology includes a 2-point occupant restraint that secures an occupant in an aircraft seat. In this embodiment, the aircraft seat is positioned in a seating area that includes a forward monument housing a stowed airbag. In the event of a crash or other significant dynamic event that causes, for example, a rapid deceleration of the aircraft above a preset magnitude, the airbag deploys between the occupant and the monument as the dynamic forces cause the occupant to pitch forward. The forward momentum of the occupant's body creates a significant tension load in the 2-point restraint, which causes the restraint to extend by a preset amount, thereby allowing the occupant to move forward in the seat more than the occupant would have moved had the occupant been wearing a conventional, non-extending 2-point restraint. Although the occupant is allowed to move forward, the occupant remains secured to the extended restraint by means of non-extending webbing that is secured around the waist of the occupant. Allowing the occupant to move forward in this manner enables the occupant's upper torso to impact the airbag at a reduced or otherwise more favorable angle. This can reduce both the speed and the angle at which the occupant's head impacts the airbag, thereby reducing the likelihood of injury. 1. 차량 탑승자 보호 장치용 가스 발생기는 가스 배출구를 구비한 세장형의 하우징과, 이 하우징내에 자리한 밀봉되고 파열가능한 가스 발생제 카트리지와, 그리고 중앙 통로를 형성하는 개구를 구비한 다수의 웨이퍼 형태로 카트리지내에 담긴 불꽃성 가스 발생기를 포함한다. 하우징의 일단에 장착된 점화기 캡슐을 밀봉된 가스 발생제 카트리지와 점화기 캡슐내의 가스 발생제의 중앙통로에 나란한 방출 개구를 구비한다. 상기 점화기 캡슐은 점화기 재료, 기폭약 및 기폭약 장입물을 담고있다. 기폭약은 캡슐의 방출 개구로 부터 고온의 연소 생성물의 불덩어리를 방출시키는 점화기 재료를 점화시키며, 밀봉된 카트리지를 파열시키고 에어 백을 부풀리는 가스를 생성하기 위해 가스 발생제장입물을 점화시킨다. 파열가능한 밀봉부는 점화기 캡슐의 방출 개구에 걸쳐 제공되며 노즐은 고온의 연소 생성물을 가스 발생제 카트리지로 안내한다. 기폭약 장입물은 만약 이것이 화염에 노출된다면 가스 발생기를 조작하기 위한 자동 점화기 재료가 된다. 사익점화기 캡슐은 포개져 있는 금속 부품들을 포함하여 세장형의 하우징의 덮개로서 장착되고 있다. 가스 발생제카트리지는 여과 및 냉각 스크린에 에워싸인 하우징내에 배치된다. 점화기 캡슐의 배출부에 인접한 파열가능한 가스 발생제 카트리지의 일단에는 점화기의 불덩어리를 유입 시키기 위해 내측으로 파열하도록 새김눈이 형성되어 있다. 카트리지는 구조적 견고성을 확보하기 위해 몇겹으로 감싸여 있는 스크린을 포함하며, 추가의 여과 및 냉각 재료들이 카트리지를 에워싸고 있다.

The present invention relates to a thermoplastic elastomer composition, a method for producing the thermoplastic elastomer composition, and a molded body. A thermoplastic elastomer composition according to the present invention contains a crystalline olefin resin (A) having a melting point of 100°C or more, an olefin resin (B) satisfying conditions (B-1) to (B-3), and an ethylene/α-olefin copolymer (C) at a weight ratio (A)/((B) + (C)) of from 70/30 to 30/70 and at a weight ratio (B)/(C) of from 100/0 to 1/99. (B-1) The olefin resin has a main chain configured from an ethylene copolymer and a side chain configured from an ethylene polymer or a propylene polymer; the ethylene copolymer comprises a repeating unit derived from ethylene and a repeating unit derived from one or more α-olefins selected from among α-olefins having 3-20 carbon atoms; and the repeating units derived from α-olefins are contained in an amount of 10-50 mol% relative to all the repeating units contained in the main chain. (B-2) The melting point as determined by DSC is 60°C to 170°C. (B-3) The Tg as determined by DSC is -80°C to -30°C.
