The invention relates to thermoplastic moulded masses, comprising A) 10 to 98.9 wt. % of at least one thermoplastic polyester, B) 0.01 to 50 wt. % B1) of at least one highly or hyper branched polycarbonate, or B2) at least one highly or hyper branched polyester of type AxBy with x = at least 1.1 and y = at least 2.1, or the mixtures thereof, C) 0.1 to 10 wt. % of at least one epoxidised natural oil or fatty acid ester or mixtures thereof and D) 0 to 60 wt. % further additives, whereby the sum of the weight percentages of components A) to D) is 100 %.

The invention relates to a cross-linked silyl-containing polymer that is used, together with a tackifying resin, to form an adhesive composition capable of storing and delivering a drug to the skin of a user. Typically the composition is formed into a patch which shows excellent adhesion to the skin even when drugs and other additives are dissolved into the composition. The polymer is a polycarbonate and the tackifying resin is preferably a mixture of styrene-acrylic resins, rosin ester resins or dicyclopentane-acrylic polymers. The drug could be an analgesic, a hormone or an anti-addiction drug such as nicotine.

In a second aspect, the present disclosure encompasses methods for the synthesis of polycarbonate polyols using the inventive polymerization systems.
