The wool may be derived from natural rocks or may be slag wool ; it is preferably coated or impregnated with a halide or carbonate of an alkali or alkaline earth metal, e.g. barium chloride, lithium chloride, lithium carbonate, cryolite, or sodium carbonate acting as a fluxing agent. The flux may be mixed with water to form a slurry which is coated on a pad of mineral wool. A thin sheet of the lubricant or a thin sheet of glass also may be interposed between the billet and the cylindrical container wall. When extruding a hollow billet, glass powder may be placed in the bore of the billet. Specific examples are given for extruding nickelchromium steel and alloy.

Mineral and other oils and fats are increased in consistency by the addition of a saponifying-agent and a product obtained by partly splitting two or more fats or oils with sulpho-aromatic acids. These fats or oils are preferably split to an extent of not more than 50 per cent, the resulting mixture of substances being used without any separation. Only one of the oils may be split by means of sulphoaromatic acids, the other one being split by any other reagent. One of the two oils is preferably castor oil. In an example, 5.75 kgs. of castor oil are split to the extent of 43 1/2 per cent by means of Twitchell reagent, and 1.75 kgs. of fish oil are added. The mixture is added to 100 kgs. of a light mineral oil together with 8 kgs of 40 per cent soda lye.

A method for reducing color in used lubricating oil. The method comprises combining: (i) a used lubricating oil; (ii) an alkali metal borohydride; and (iii) a bisulfite or metabisulfite salt.2. The method of wherein a molar ratio of bisulfite to borohydride is from 1:1 to 8:1.3. The method of in which the alkali metal borohydride is added in an amount from 0.01 wt % to 0.1 wt % claim 2 , based on weight of the used lubricating oil.4. The mixture is molded and the resin cured to form a piece in a solid preformed shape corresponding to the shape of the mold. Thereafter, the preformed piece is heated in a substantially oxygen free atmosphere for a time and at temperatures and pressures sufficient to fuse at least a portion of the metal particles into a sintered metal matrix. The preformed piece may be sintered to a metal backing plate during the heating step, or may be welded, brazed or soldered to the plate after heating. The resulting product may be classified as a hybrid friction material, i.e., being a cross between semi-metallic and sintered full metallic friction materials.

本发明涉及一种提高干摩擦条件下铝合金表面耐磨性的方法,所述方法包括如下步骤:1)表面微织构;2)阳极氧化前预处理,包括:a)超声清洗;b)涂胶;c)碱蚀;d)水洗;e)酸洗;f)水洗;g)除灰;h)水洗;3)阳极氧化;4超声波沉积纳米固体润滑剂;5)将步骤4)中超声波沉积纳米固体润滑剂的铝合金在烘箱中干燥,以改善纳米固体润滑剂颗粒对基材的粘附强度,即得。本发明在铝合金表面依次通过表面微织构加工,阳极氧化预处理,阳极氧化,超声波沉积纳米固体润滑剂等工艺,协同改善铝合金表面耐磨性,本发明的方法简单、易于实现,并且显著降低了铝合金的表面摩擦系数,大幅度提高了铝合金的表面耐磨性。
