A solid-state lubricant composition is disclosed. The solid-lubricant contains graphene, an oxide of a metal, and one or more polymeric binders. A method of making a solid-state lubricant coating on various substrates is disclosed. The method includes the steps of making a homogeneous slurry comprising powder of an oxide of a metal, graphene, and a polymeric binder with organic volatile solvent; coating a substrate with the homogeneous slurry with desired thicknesses; and drying the slurry on the substrate naturally or applying additional heat, resulting in a solid lubricant coating on the substrate. Substrates with coated solid composite lubricant show wear reduction and lower coefficient of friction compared with uncoated substrates.

By addition of a polar molecule additive, yield stresses under electric field are improved by over 50% while the current density is reduced to less than a quarter of the original GER. The reversible response time still remains the same, and the sedimentation stability is greatly enhanced. The zero field viscosity of the modified GER fluid remains the same as that of the original GER fluid without the additive. A lubricant composition with improved stability and tolerance for water hardness comprises a synthetic wax emulsion; an amine derivative; an emulsifier; and a sequestrant. The synthetic wax emulsion may include poly(ethyleneoxide)-based or poly(propyleneoxide)-based wax emulsions. The amine derivative may include alkyl C-Coxy propyl diamine. This relates to the coating of air bags, which are used for safety purposes to protect occupants of vehicles such as automobiles, and of air bag fabrics intended to be made into air bags. In particular the invention relates to the top coating of air bags and air bag fabrics which have been pre-coated with a cured organic resin coating composition. Embodiments are directed to a lubricant package for water based drilling fluids. The lubricant package includes water, a polyethylene glycol, and a lubricating agent. Component (ii) is preferably an overbased metal hydroxybenzoate detergent. The disclosed technology relates to a lubricant composition containing a polyalkylene glycol in which greater than 50% of the repeating units in the polyalkylene glycol contain an alkylene oxide derived moiety comprising a C4 or greater alkyl group. The lubricant compositions are particularly useful in compressors, such as a reciprocating rotary vane, scroll, or rotary screw air compressor. 1. A lubricant composition comprising:(a) at least one oil of lubricating viscosity, and{'sub': 4', '4', '4, '(b) at least one Cor greater polyalkylene glycol, wherein greater than 50% of the repeating units in said at least one Cor greater polyalkylene glycol contain an alkylene oxide derived moiety comprising Cor greater alkyl.'}2. The lubricant of claim 1 , wherein less than 50% of the repeating units in said at least one Cor greater polyalkylene glycol contain an alkylene oxide derived moiety comprising at least one C claim 1 , C claim 1 , Calkyl group or combinations thereof.3. The lubricant of claim 1 , wherein said Cor greater polyalkylene glycol of component (b) is soluble in the oil of lubricating viscosity.41. The lubricant of clami claim 1 , wherein said Cor greater polyalkylene glycol of component (b) is present at 5 percent by weight or greater.5. The lubricant of claim 1 , further comprising at least one Cto Cpolyalkylene glycol claim 1 , wherein greater than 50% of the repeat units in said at least one Cto Cpolyalkylene glycol contains an alkylene oxide derived moiety comprising at least one of a C claim 1 , C claim 1 , or Calkyl group or combination thereof.6. The lubricant of claim 5 , wherein the ratio of the at least one Cor greater polyalkylene glycol to the at least one Cto Cpolyalkylene glycol is from about 1:1 to about 10:1 by weight.7.
