A method for actuating a camshaft adjuster of an internal combustion engine , in which a current is generated in an electric motor of the camshaft adjuster , the method comprising:measuring an instantaneous strength of the current;calculating a mean value of the measured strength of the current over a predefined elapsed time;measuring a temperature of the camshaft adjuster;comparing the mean value of the measured strength of the current to a threshold value obtained from a characteristic diagram stored in a memory based on the measured temperature and the predefined elapsed time; andreducing the current if the calculated mean value of the strength of the current is higher than the threshold value.2. The method as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising reducing the instantaneous strength of the current until the mean value is lower than the threshold value.3. The method as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the temperature comprises an engine block temperature or an oil temperature.4. Third order nonlinear servo control is split into nested control loops: a fast nonlinear first-order inner loop causing flux to track a target by varying a voltage output; and a slower almost linear second-order outer loop causing magnetic gap to track a target by controlling the flux target of the inner loop. The inner loop uses efficient switching regulation, preferably based on controlled feedback instabilities, to control voltage output. The outer loop achieves damping and accurate convergence using proportional, time-integral, and time-derivative gain terms. The time-integral feedback may be based on measured and target solenoid drive currents, adjusting the magnetic gap for force balance at the target current. Incorporation of permanent magnet material permits the target current to be zero, achieving levitation with low power, including for a monorail deriving propulsion from the levitation magnets. Linear magnetic approximations lead to the simplest controller, but nonlinear analog computation in the log domain yields a better controller with relatively few parts. When servo controlled solenoids provide actuation of a pump piston and valves, electronic LC resonance measurements determine liquid volume and gas bubble volume.

An electromagnetically actuated valve is disclosed having an upper electromagnetic element and a lower electromagnetic element, each of the elements having a toroidal configuration or an annular configuration with a U-shaped cross-section. The elements each define a central chamber and a central channel. The upper and lower electromagnetic elements are in a mirrored relationship to each other. The valve also includes a core element having an annular horizontal cross-section and is disposed intermediate the upper and lower electromagnetic elements. A coil is disposed within the central channel of each of the electromagnetic elements. A valve stem is disposed within the central chamber of the electromagnetic elements. A spring is disposed within the central chamber of the electromagnetic elements for biasing the electromagnetic elements in a neutral position. A connecting plate connects the core elements to the valve stem. Applying current to the coil in the upper electromagnetic element causes the valve to close, and interrupting the current to the coil in the upper electromagnetic element and applying current to the coil in the lower electromagnetic element causes the valve to open.

The position sensor unit comprises the first housing, a coil (11), a control unit and a sensor circuit (12). The sensor circuit (12) comprises a comparator (15) connected to the first branch comprising the coil (11), a power switch (16) and a reference resistance (18) connected in series with each other. The comparator (15) is configured to obtain and compare an instantaneous measuring voltage through the reference resistance (18) and an instantaneous transfer voltage, to generate a change in the state of the digital output signal based on the mutual correlation between the measuring voltage and the transfer voltage. The method consists in sending an ascending branch of the digital input signal pulse from the control unit to the power switch (16) to create a change in the state of the power switch (16) from opened to closed. In the control unit, the first change in the state of the output signal from the comparator (15) is detected. The realtive position between the first housing (10) and the coil (11) is determined based on the time delay between the ascending branch of the input signal pulse and the first change in the state of the output signal. The method may also consist in detecting the second change in the state of the output signal in the control unit. The realtive position between the first houding (10) and the coil (11) may be determined based on the delay between the first change in the state of the output signal and the second change in the state of the output signal. Internal combustion engines comprising at least one cylinder having one or two admission valves and one or two outlet valves for controlling the gas exchange, and at least one electric or hydraulic actuator provided with a regulating piston, by which means a pair of admission valves or a pair of outlet valves can be actuated via a coupling element, are known. The coupling element is a plate which is rotatably mounted on the regulating piston, and to which the gas exchange valves are rigidly fixed. The rigid connection enables the gas exchange valves to be actively opened by the pressure forces of the actuator, and actively closed by the traction forces of the actuator. It is disadvantageous that there is no precise play and tolerance compensation with said arrangement, which would ensure a uniform movement of the gas exchange valves. The rotating mounting of the coupling element allows a slightly different course of the two gas exchange valves, such that they cannot be precisely actuated and valve play compensation is not possible or only in a very costly manner. The internal combustion engine according to the invention enables conventional valve play compensation to be easily implemented. According to the invention, the coupling element (8) is a rotatably mounted valve lever or a cross member mounted in a linear guide (7), and is coupled to the admission or outlet valves (2, 3) in such a way that only pressure forces can be transmitted to the admission or outlet valves (2, 3).

The present invention relates to an electronic control type variable valve timing device capable of adjusting a valve sealing timing of an engine in an electronic control scheme. To this end, the electronic control type variable valve timing device comprises: a housing for connecting lower and upper push rods; a cylinder formed with upper and lower chambers, having a lower plunger positioned at the lower chamber to be vertically moved and an upper plunger positioned to be in contact with the upper chamber, and mounted with a first check valve to allow hydraulic fluid of the upper chamber to flow only to the lower chamber; a flow path formed at the outside of the cylinder to allow the hydraulic fluid to flow to the upper chamber from the lower chamber; and a solenoid valve mounted on the housing to open and close the flow path. When the lower plunger is elevated, the hydraulic oil of the lower chamber is closed to allow the cylinder to push and lift the upper plunger by a hydraulic pressure. Also, when the solenoid valve is opened, the hydraulic oil in the lower chamber flows to the upper chamber through the flow path such that the upper plunger is moved downward before the lower plunger is moved downward.

本发明的目的在于提供电磁控制增压式配气系统,包括液压油轨、电磁控制部分、气门体、油箱等。本发明采用液压油轨显著降低了系统内压力波动引起的气门开启和关闭不稳定性,确保了配气系统工作的可靠性及一致性;通过电磁控制部分通断电控制控制阀开启和关闭液压油路,利用增压活塞对增压腔内液压油进行增压,从而实现气门与通气口间的通断,能有效控制配气定时及配气持续角,有利于内燃机不同工况下灵活配气方式的实现,显著提高了气门控制自由度,能进一步改善燃料的经济性和内燃机排放,有利于提高内燃机的动力性能。
