A fluid flushing machine for a vehicle engine component uses a pre-heated cleaner/fluid to increase the effectiveness of the cleaning procedure and reduce the time needed to clean the component. The invention is designed to clean air charged coolers, EGR valves, EGR coolers, and other components that over time have become contaminated with carbon build up, oil, and debris. The machine of the present invention has the option to direct heated cleaning fluid through the vehicle engine's cooling system to remove carbon build up, oil, and debris in the vehicle's EGR valve and cooler component. The machine of the present invention is adapted to perform the operation in an engine-off condition by incorporating an integrated or external electronic device to open the vehicle's EGR valve to allow the cleaning fluid to flow through the engine while it is turned off. 1. A recycling apparatus which preferably treats used antifreeze/coolant in four cycles is disclosed. The recycling apparatus includes a number of tanks for storing the antifreeze/coolant during the various treatment cycles, a number of containers for storing chemical reagents used to chemically treat the antifreeze/coolant and a number of filters used to capture impurities suspended in the treated antifreeze/coolant. During a fill cycle, the used antifreeze/coolant is introduced into a treatment tank and the concentration of the antifreeze/coolant is adjusted, if necessary, to a predefined range. During a mix cycle, the used antifreeze/coolant is mixed with various reagents to adjust the pH value, as well as to coagulate and flocculate the impurities. A reverse mixing and aspiration of the antifreeze/coolant in the tank during the mix cycle ensure that the reagents will mix well and react with the impurities in the used antifreeze/coolant to form a sludge. During a dormant cycle, the fluid in the tank is allowed to set, while the sludge is caused to rise to the top of the fluid. Finally, during a drain and filter cycle, the treated antifreeze/coolant is vacuum-drained from the treatment tank and is filtered and reinhibited before being stored in a storage tank. The treatment tank is preferably conically-shaped with a double step in its apex to assist the removal of sludge during the vacuum evacuation procedure.

본 발명은 엔진의 냉각장치에 관한 것으로서, 리저버 탱크(1)에 설치된 수온센서(2) 및 수위센서(3)와, 와셔모터(4)와 와셔분사노즐(5)의 사이에 설치되어 와셔모터(4)로부터의 와셔액을 와셔분사노즐(5)과 리저버 탱크(1)로 절환하여 공급하는 솔레노이드 밸브(6)와, 상기 수온센서(2)와 수위센서(3)의 신호를 받아 상기 솔레노이드 밸브(6) 및 와셔모터(4)의 동작을 제어하는 컨트롤 유닛(7)으로 구성된 냉각수 보충장치를 제공함으로써, 엔진의 냉각수가 부족하게되는 경우에는 자동적으로 와셔액을 전용하여 엔진 냉각수로 이용할 수 있도록 하여, 운전자의 점검소홀과 같은 이유로 냉각수의 충분한 확보가 이루어지지 못한 경우에도 엔진의 과열방지에 대한 신뢰성을 더욱 향상시킬 수 있는 효과가 있다. Field of the Invention The present invention relates to an engine cooling apparatus, wherein a water temperature sensor (2) and a water level sensor (3) installed in a reservoir tank (1) are installed between a washer motor (4) and a washer injection nozzle (5). (4) the solenoid valve (6) for switching and supplying the washer liquid from the washer injection nozzle (5) and the reservoir tank (1), and receiving the signal from the water temperature sensor (2) and the water level sensor (3). By providing a coolant replenishment device consisting of the control unit 7 for controlling the operation of the washer motor 4 and the wash water, the washer fluid is automatically dedicated to the engine coolant when the coolant of the engine is insufficient. In addition, even when sufficient cooling water cannot be secured due to a driver's check-out hole, the reliability of the engine overheating protection can be further improved.

An air-deflector plate is so arranged in the air compartment that it is possible to alternate the fans between radiators so that the cooling-air stream can pass in either direction through each of the radiators and screens. One fan meanwhile blows cooling air into the engine compartment, which air escapes upwardly through openings in the upper machine wall.

The cleaner consists of chelating agents, surfactants, and anti-foaming agents. The filter is removably inserted in the cooling system, and the cleaners and inhibitors dissolve in the coolant to clean and protectively coat the cooling system while the engine is operating. The removed impurities are captured by the filter and the filter is replaced within a few weeks with a standard filter containing inhibiting agents. The method thus does not require draining the cooling system to clean the cooling system.

An endplate member is provided for attachment to the opposite end of the filter element and is configured in such a way so as to define an interior chamber where supplemental coolant additive pellets are stored. A closing plate is applied across the open end of the interior chamber so as to create an enclosed chamber for the supplemental coolant additive pellets. A slow release mechanism is provided for controlling the rate of release of the supplemental coolant additive from the enclosed chamber into the coolant solution. In one embodiment of the present invention, the slow release mechanism includes a diffusion tube which defines a diffusion orifice. In another embodiment of the present invention, the slow release mechanism includes a semipermeable (or osmotic) membrane wafer. In both instances, the slow release mechanism is positioned between the source of supplemental coolant additive and the flow outlet in the nutplate.

A coolant filter for a diesel engine having a mechanism for delayed release of chemical additives into the coolant being filtered. The present invention provides a spin-on canister type coolant filter which combines the functions of filtering the coolant of the diesel engine cooling system with the function of adding supplemental coolant additives to the coolant to reduce or eliminate the effects of cavitation erosion caused by vibration of the cylinder liners of the diesel engine. The filter includes a chemical additive cartridge mounted within an outer shell and a filter cartridge mounted about the chemical additive cartridge and inside the outer shell. Coolant to be filtered passes by the chemical additive cartridge, which slowly releases the chemical additive into the passing coolant stream. The coolant containing the chemical additive then passes through the filter to remove relatively large pieces of the chemical additive as well as other debris before exiting the filter for subsequent cooling of the diesel engine. In order to slowly release the chemical additive, the chemical cartridge includes relatively small air vents and outlets and the filter outlet includes a restriction orifice which further slows the release of the chemical additive into the coolant stream.

A method of replacing radiator fluid in an automotive radiator includes providing two gas tight containers, a fluid conducting hose with a gas tight nozzle fitted into a radiator fill pipe nipple. The method further includes the steps of filling one of the containers with a fresh radiator fluid, drawing a high vacuum on a second one of the containers, drawing spent radiator fluid into the second one of the containers using only suction from the container, thereby leaving the automotive radiator under a partial vacuum and then drawing the fresh radiator fluid, from the first one of the containers, into the radiator using only suction from the partial vacuum in the radiator. A radiator flush step may also be applied following the same method, using two additional containers, one with initial high vacuum and the other containing flush fluid.
