A method is provided for designing and producing fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) pistons. Pistons made with FRP have a lower mass than prior art metal pistons conferring advantageous engine efficiency and stability. FRP pistons also increase the thermal efficiency of engines by having a lower thermal conductivity, with tighter piston-to-bore clearance, and/increased air-fuel ratio than pistons of metal. The technical parameters of the piston are identified, and a piston body blank is produced. The blank is then machined, a bearing surface for the pin bore is created, the piston blank is optionally coated, is optionally subjected to Heavy Metal Ion Implantation (HMII) treatment and is subjected to sodium silicate impregnation to produce the final pistons. 1. A method for manufacturing at least one fiber-reinforced polymer piston , the method comprising:determining at least one dimension of the at least one fiber-reinforced polymer piston selected from: dome area, piston ring lands, pin bore area, skirt area, for designing and producing a piston body blank comprising at least 50% fiber-reinforced polymer by volume;machining the piston body blank for integral parts of the piston to obtain a piston blank;generating a bearing surface for a pin bore in the piston blank, the bearing surface having a surface roughness of 0-32 Ra;finishing the piston blank to obtain the fiber-reinforced polymer piston; andimpregnating the piston with sodium silicate impregnation.2. The method according to claim 1 , producing the piston body blank further comprises building a one-piece claim 1 , a two-piece claim 1 , or a three-piece piston body blank.3. A compressor comprising:a cylinder body defining an outer wall having an inner body surface and an outer body surface opposite the inner body surface, wherein the inner body surface partially defines a cylinder chamber, and the cylinder body defines a first end and an open second end opposite the first end;a cylinder head supported by the cylinder body at the second end, the cylinder head defining an inner head surface that faces the cylinder chamber, an outer head surface that is opposite the inner head surface along a central head axis, and a side wall configured to attach to the cylinder body, wherein the outer head surface defines a concavity along at least one direction; anda piston supported in the cylinder chamber and movable along a longitudinal direction along an intake stroke that creates negative pressure in the cylinder chamber so as to draw fluid into the cylinder chamber through an inlet, and a discharge that creates positive pressure in the cylinder chamber so as to force fluid out of the cylinder chamber through an outlet, wherein at least one of the inlet and the outlet is defined by the cylinder head,wherein the concavity has a length along a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, and the length is at least half of an outer dimension of the cylinder head defined by opposed locations of the side wall along a direction that intersects the central head axis.2. A vertical conduit on at least one curved surface controls flow of fluid by movement of the diaphragm into and out of contact with the vertical conduit. An external rotor pump has an outer rotor with a sliding surface which is arranged on the outer side thereof, and an opposing body in which the outer rotor is mounted rotatably by way of the sliding surface thereof on an inner guide surface of the opposing body and is in mechanical contact with the inner guide surface. An inner rotor which is mounted such that it can be rotated eccentrically with respect to the outer rotor is provided. The sliding surface or the inner guide surface has a surface structure which has a load-bearing region and a non-load-bearing region which is depressed in contrast with the former.

A compressor 100 is provided with the following: a housing 10 that extends in one direction; an internal housing 40 that is disposed between an intake chamber H1 formed on one end in the housing 10, and a discharge chamber H2 formed on the other end in the housing 10; and a movable scroll 3 that is a compression mechanism that is provided in the internal housing 40, that compresses a fluid guided into the intake chamber H1, and that discharges the compressed fluid into the discharge chamber H2. The housing 10 includes a front housing 11 having an internal wall surface W1 that is exposed to the intake chamber H1, a rear housing 13 having an internal wall surface W2 that is exposed to the discharge chamber H2, and a center housing 12 that connects the front housing 11 to the rear housing 13 and has a thermal conductivity lower than the thermal conductivity of the rear housing 13.
