The stopper (10) comprises a restricting member (12, 13) which holds the stopper (10) in the lock position when it is in the lock position and holds the stopper (10) in the release position when it is in the release position. Since the locking operation of the stopper (10) is performed manually, the releasing operation thereof is easily understood by the operator.

A door closing piston-cylinder assembly which is designed to permit the door initially to move to closed position relatively rapidly but with controlled restraint until it approaches the fully closed position where upon the door continues to move but considerably more slowly so that it will close smoothly and softly. The cylinder has a large diameter bore adjacent one end and a bore of smaller diameter adjacent the other end. A piston assembly has a first piston dimensioned to reciprocate in the large bore and a second piston of smaller diameter dimensioned to reciprocate in the smaller bore. The pistons have check valves which close when the pistons move in one direction and open when they move in the opposite direction. The smaller piston has a metering valve which is open at all times. A bleeder valve is provided in the end of the cylinder having the small bore. A coil spring is provided to move the pistons in a direction to close the door. The door closing piston-cylinder assembly is operable to control the opening and closing movements of a door relative to a door frame when the door is connected to the cylinder and the door frame is connected to the piston, or visa versa.

The stopper ( 10 ) displaces between a lock position which locks contraction of the piston rod ( 2 ) and a release position which permits contraction of the piston rod ( 2 ) according to directional operation forces applied by an operator. The stopper ( 10 ) comprises a restricting member ( 12, 13 ) which holds the stopper ( 10 ) in the lock position when it is in the lock position and holds the stopper ( 10 ) in the release position when it is in the release position. Since the locking operation of the stopper ( 10 ) is performed manually, the releasing operation thereof is easily understood by the operator.

A door closing piston-cylinder assembly which is designed to permit the door initially to move to closed position relatively rapidly but with controlled restraint until it approaches the fully closed position where upon the door continues to move but considerably more slowly so that it will close smoothly and softly. The cylinder has a large diameter bore adjacent one end and a bore of smaller diameter adjacent the other end. A piston assembly has a first piston dimensioned to reciprocate in the large bore and a second piston of smaller diameter dimensioned to reciprocate in the smaller bore. The pistons have check valves which close when the pistons move in one direction and open when they move in the opposite direction. The smaller piston has a metering valve which is open at all times. A bleeder valve is provided in the end of the cylinder having the small bore. A coil spring is provided to move the pistons in a direction to close the door. The door closing piston-cylinder assembly is operable to control the opening and closing movements of a door relative to a door frame when the door is connected to the cylinder and the door frame is connected to the piston, or visa versa.

A latch mechanism is disclosed for use with an air damper assembly. The air damper assembly is used for controlling the dampening rate of an openable object and includes a piston head having a molded channel therein and a lip seal member disposed around the connecting member of the piston head to form a continuous seal therebetween. The piston head is formed of a pair of axially spaced-apart first and second circular plate members which are connected by the connecting member. The second circular plate member is formed of a diameter which is smaller than the diameter of the first circular plate member so as to allow the outer peripheral portion of the lip seal member to collapse and become disengaged from the inner peripheral sidewall of the housing member. The latch mechanism latches the piston at its retracted position within its cylinder or housing.

The damper (10) includes a piston assembly (14) which travels within a cylindrical damper housing (12) between an extended position and a retracted position. A transverse channel (28) is formed proximate to the open end of the damper housing (12). A latching diamond (30) travels within the transverse channel. The piston assembly (14) includes a piston shaft (52) with a camming wall sub-assembly formed thereon which engages the latching diamond (34) so that the piston assembly (14) is latched in a "push-push" configuration in the extended position. In this latched configuration, the latching diamond (34) is detent engaged by a concave detent apex (122) formed on an island which includes a longitudinally chamfered portion. Additionally, the flexibility of the island (92) in which the concave detent apex (122) is formed may be increased by transverse passageways or "cored-out" areas (128) in the piston shaft immediately adjacent to the island. While the open latched configuration is normally released by incrementally extending and then releasing the piston assembly, it is possible that a user will attempt to release the open latched configuration by urging the piston assembly toward the retracted position. In this case, the island flexes and the latch diamond travels over a longitudinally chamfered portion of the concave detent apex free of damage to the island, the latch diamond, and other portions of the damper.

The present invention relates to a telescoping leg for a firearm such as a rifle. The leg includes a pair of telescopically slidable elongated members. The first member is configured to be fixed to the stock of a rifle. The second member is telescopically slidable relative to the first member between a retracted position and an extended position. The leg also includes a biasing means to bias the second member towards the extended position and a damper means for damping the movement of the second member between the retracted and extended positions. In one form, one of the first member and the second member is a casing having an inner surface defining in part a gas chamber, the other one of the first member and the second member is a piston received at least partially in the casing for reciprocation along an axis between the retracted and extended positions. The biasing means includes a compressible gas contained in the chamber that yieldably biases the piston towards the extended position. The present invention is advantageous in that when fixed to the butt of the stock of a rifle the leg provides a means of supporting at least part of the weight of the rifle, in particular the weight of the butt and the stock of the rifle, on a surface. The invention is particularly suitable for use with a rifle to which a bipod is mounted towards the front of the stock of the rifle. The invention enables a user to provide stable and controlled changes to the elevation of the rifle on a target and to maintain the elevation of the rifle for an extended period of time while reducing the burden on the user to support the weight of the rifle.

本发明公开了气动升降桌的导向控制机构,包括桌面支撑板、下底板、上固定块、可锁气弹簧和楔形开关,上固定块套设于可锁气弹簧外,可锁气弹簧的两端分别连接上、下连接板,第一直线轴承套设于第一直线光轴外并安装于上固定块内,第一直线光轴一端连接上连接板、另一端装配有第一圆柱螺旋弹簧,内套管连接下底板且罩设于下连接板外,外套管连接桌面支撑板且罩设于上连接板外,楔形开关的斜楔面可抵压阀顶针,使得外套管可相对内套管远离或靠近下底板的方向运动。本发明结构紧凑,导向精度高,利用可转动的楔形开关巧妙控制可锁气弹簧,圆柱螺旋弹簧解决了可锁气弹簧上升至末端时的冲击问题,该导向控制机构使得桌面升降更顺滑、平稳,不易晃动。
