Die Meßlatte ist durch einen anbaubaren Stiel auch im Stehen bedienbar und durch einfaches Umdrehen als gewöhnliche Wasserwaage verwendbar. Das Höhenverstellen ist werkzeuglos möglich, alle Teile sind bei evtl. Verschleiß austauschbar. Die Meßlatte wird in einem Hartkarton-Köcher ausgeliefert.

The gauge has a handle (5) screwed, between two slots (3), to the body of the level gauge (1) with each slot locating a setting screw (9) which can be moved along the slot (3) to a position such that the distance between the screws corresponds to the dimensions of the flange. Each setting screw is threaded (12) at one end, so that a wing nut (7) can be screwed onto it to maintain it at the required position relative to the slot (3). The phial (2) for the level gauge (1) is located above the two slots (3) parallel to the longitudinal axes of the latter, so as to indicate if the diametrical axes of the two setting screws (9) are in the same horizontal plane.

The position controlling device is designed to provide precise alignment of the drill along an horizontal or vertical axis above or below the plane of work. It consists of a support with two air bubbles(2A,2B) placed perpendicularly in a protective housing(3) which can pivot through 90 degrees on two axes(5,6). Reading simultaneously the two level bubbles enables one to control the orientation of the tool. A removable adapter(11) of various types can be used on the drill for fixing the levelling housing(3), Fig 6 shows one particular type of adapter.

The measuring tape is contained in a moulded case with provision for retaining the tape pull ring. The spirit level is integrated within the case to permit horizontal or vertical level measurements. The case is constructed of two plastic moulded shells, one male (1) and the other female (2). Two circular ribs inside the case aid the passage of the flexible tape (6). A boss (3) carries the tape winding handle (30). On the end of the case is a recess (14) with a raised portion (18) with deep slot (19) for retaining the tape pull ring (15). A recess on top of the case contains a spirit level (27) initially adjustable by screws (26) and with a transparent cover (24).
