A digital computer system operable under stored program control means, said computer system being interconnected with and controlling said processing stations, random access storage means, reading means and conveying means, whereby under computer control selected ones of said semiconductor wafers which are randomly stored in said random access storage means may be selected and fabricated into first part number large scale integrated circuit devices, and selected second ones of said semiconductor wafers randomly stored in said random access storage means may be selected and fabricated into second part number large scale integrated circuit devices, where said first and second part number devices are not identical.

An apparatus ensures proper completion of a plurality of tasks at the plurality of positions, such as torquing of a plurality of bolts on a structure. The bolts are to be torqued to a plurality of different torques. The apparatus includes first indicia adjacent to each bolt. The indicia are characteristic of the torque to which each bolt is to be tightened. There is a reading device for reading the indicia for each bolt. At least one torque wrench is provided for tightening each bolt. The second indicia are operatively coupled to the wrench and to the reading device which indicates when the torque wrench properly tightens each bolt.

A fixtured workpiece is moved into the work area of a preprogrammed cutting robot on a shuttle table. The positioning of the robot head is effected by a positioning system that includes a transceiver unit carried by the robot head and that preferably operates at microwave frequency. A passive transponder is carried by the vehicle and includes a simple code which the transponder is intended to modulate on a signal transmitted by the transceiver and is reflected by the transponder. The signal received by the transceiver from the transponder is decoded and is used to access a robot head movement plan that corresponds with that code, to automatically steer the robot head to the fuel tank pipe and thereby enable the vehicle to be fuelled.

The machine-tools are controlled by a central computer with associated manual programming unit through data channels. Each workpiece being machined carries an identification mark which is read by a reader to determine what machine operations have been carried out on it. These identification marks are altered by a re-identification device, which automatically updates the marks as soon as a fresh set of machine operations has been completed. Pref., the re-identification device is a separate printing unit associated with each machine tool. Ein erfindungsgemäßes Verfahren zum Nachproduzieren eines Werkstückteils (8) an einer Werkzeugmaschine (1) umfasst die folgenden Verfahrensschritte: - Ermitteln einer ID eines nachzuproduzierenden Werkstückteils (8) mithilfe einer auf einem mobilen Endgerät (13) gespeicherten Applikation (19); - Herstellen einer Datenverbindung (14) zwischen dem mobilen Endgerät (13) und einer zum Produzieren des nachzuproduzierenden Werkstückteils (8) geeigneten Werkzeugmaschine (1); - Übertragen der ermittelten ID des nachzuproduzierenden Werkstückteils (8) vom mobilen Endgerät (13) über die Datenverbindung (14) an die Werkzeugmaschine (1); und - Nachproduzieren eines der übertragenen ID entsprechenden Werkstückteils (8) durch die Werkzeugmaschine (1).
