Для этого система с регулируемым электрическим наклоном включает в себя решетку, состоящую из антенных элементов. Система имеет разделитель для разделения радиочастотного (РЧ) сигнала несущей на два сигнала, между которыми регулируемый фазовращатель вносит переменный фазовый сдвиг. Дополнительные разделители разделяют сигналы, подвергнутые относительному фазовому сдвигу, на два набора из пяти сигналов каждый. Четыре сигнала каждого набора, состоящего из пяти сигналов, подвергаются векторному объединению в схеме, состоящей из гибридных разветвителей, вносящих фазовые сдвиги на 180°. Это обеспечивает получение составляющих векторных сумм и разностей, которые совместно с пятью членами упомянутых наборов подаются в соответствующие фиксированные фазовращатели. An antenna matching circuit is formed by a reactance changing section and a matching section. The reactance changing section changes the resonant frequency to be compatible with a plurality of bands, and performs fine adjustment of the resonant frequency changed by the influence of the human body. The parallel inductor causes the locus of input impedance of the antenna matching circuit to draw a small circle locus in the first quadrant of a Smith chart. A beamforming method is disclosed that includes performing sequential beam transmissions in multiple directions and receiving replies to the transmissions (i.e. a sector search). The received transmissions can include information or channel parameters such as direction of arrival, signal to noise ratio, signal strength, etc., for each sector. Utilizing the parameters transmitted or fed back by the receiver, the transmitter can store control vectors that dictate a beam that can be utilized to commence a beam refinement procedure. In addition, the parameters can be utilized to select and implement a custom sequence to refine the communication channel between the device and the controller. The custom sequence can significantly reduce the time required to create a channel with acceptable qualities such that efficient high speed network communications can be conducted. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

An adjustable multiband antenna especially intended to mobile terminals. The antenna structure comprises a radiator ( 320 ), a feed element ( 330 ) and an adjusting circuit ( 350 ). The radiator is a conductive part of the outer cover (COV) of a radio device or conductive coating of the cover. It is fed electromagnetically by a feed element which is isolated from the radiator by a relatively thin dielectric substrate. The feed element is connected either directly or through an intermediate element ( 340 ) to the antenna port of the device and to the ground plane ( 310 ), and it is shaped so that the antenna has at least two operating bands. The adjusting circuit is connected to an adjusting point (AP) in the feed element, and the reactance between the adjusting point and ground and thus the electric size of the antenna can be changed by means of a switch (SW) in the adjusting circuit. Among other things, the component values of the adjusting circuit and the distance between the short-circuit (SP) and adjusting (AP) points in the feed element are variables from the point of view of the antenna adjustment. Displacements, which have desired directions and lengths, are obtained for at least two operation bands of the antenna independently from each other by changing the switch state. The efficiency of the antenna is better than of the corresponding known antennas, and its matching can be made good both in lower and upper operating band of the antenna.

A length of the coupling portion is substantially equal to a half wavelength of the electromagnetic signals. The grounding portion is located on both the first and second surface.
