An electrical plug includes a replaceable current-operated fuse 12 and a non-replaceable thermal fuse 9. The plug may be re­used after an over-current condition by replacing the current-operated fuse, which will not generally increase the risk of overheating. However, in the event of an overheat condition (whether or not accompanied by an excessive current flow) the plug will cease to function due to the thermal fuse and must be completely replaced. The plug preferably includes warning means capable of indicating when an overheat condition has resulted in activation of the thermal fuse, such as a neon lamp 26 which is connected across the thermal fuse. The thermal switch may comprise a tension spring (23, Fig 2) held in place by a metal pellet (24, Fig 2).

A connector is described, with a receiver (11) at the rear end that receives and terminates to a cable conductor (12), with a contact (15) at the front end, and with en electrical fuse (16) between the receiver and contact. The fuse has front and rear fuse terminals (42, 43). A threaded connection between a contact threaded stud part (52) and a threaded coupling (23) in the receiver can draw the contact and receiver together and clamp the fuse terminals between contact and receiver. An insulator (24) surrounds the threaded tube to mechanically fix the threaded coupling to the receiver while electrically isolating one from the other. The receiver has a rear end crimped around the cable conductor and a front end crimped around the insulator.

A hooks engages in the through holes to prevent the cap from detaching from the housing, being disengageable from the through holes when pushed by a pin inserted into the through holes allowing the spring member to push the cap to move until the hooks engage in the slots. A single bolt fuse assembly and method to connect a single bolt fuse to a circuit or device are disclosed. The single bolt fuse assembly enables the single bolt fuse to be used on any electrical device having a hole suitable for receiving a threaded shaft and connectable to a circuit or device that electrically connects to a female battery or power cable. The apparatus includes a separate high-conductive metal terminal that mates with the stud that mechanically attaches the fuse between the electrical devices. The stud is insulated to avoid becoming part of the electrical circuit and to ensure proper operation of the fuse. By mechanically attaching the stud to the metal terminal, the stud is unlikely to get separated from the fuse.

A connector for electric vehicle supply equipment includes: a housing; a first electrical coupling member supported by the housing and that mates with an inlet of an electric vehicle, the first electrical coupling member including a first pin part; a second electrical coupling member supported by the housing and that mates with the inlet, the second electrical coupling member including a second pin part; and a conductive barrier supported by the housing that extends between the first and second pin parts. The conductive barrier interacts with at least one of the first and second pin parts to provide a conduction path for electrical power monitorable to evaluate electrical isolation of the first and second electrical coupling members and avoid electrical arcing or short-circuiting.
