When the packet is a precision time protocol packet, a time stamp pressed before the precision time protocol packet enters the hardware delay node is extracted; and corresponding delay compensation is performed according to the delay value and the time stamp. Compared with the prior art, the delay value measured by using the technical solution of the present invention is more precise, so that the time stamp can be correspondingly adjusted according to the measured precise delay value when the precision time protocol packet passes through the hardware delay node and the extracted time stamp, thereby improving the synchronization precision of the precision time protocol packet.
