Disclosed are a method for sharing a file between devices and a system thereof. The method for sharing a file based on conversation comprises the following steps of: uploading a file to be shared with at least one other device used by a user through a conversation session set between an account of a user of an electronic device and a server providing a cloud service, to the server; storing a sharing message including a link with respect to a storage location of the server for the file uploaded to the server as an instance message of a personal chat room corresponding to the conversation session; and displaying the sharing message stored as the instance message on a screen of the electronic device through the personal chat room, wherein it is possible to share the file uploaded to the server through the sharing message displayed on the personal chat room by accessing the personal chat room with the account of the user in the device.
