The present invention provides an energy storage system (ESS) enhancing precision of a fire management system to correctly determine and control a fire; and a fire management method thereof. According to the present invention, the ESS comprises: a container having a storage space formed inside; a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to condition air inside the container, to control temperature inside the container, and to control a natural airflow flowing in the container; and the fire management system inside the container. The fire management system includes: fire extinguishing equipment and a control panel disposed in the storage space; smoke, heat, and flame sensors installed inside the container; and a duct smoke sensor installed in a duct of the HVAC system.
