The present invention relates to an ink composition and to a production method for the same, and provided are: an ink composition comprising from 0.001 to 10 wt.% of a pH indicator, from 5 to 35 wt.% of an adsorption agent, from 10 to 30 wt.% of a water-soluble resin, from 35 to 80 wt.% of a solvent which dissolves the water-soluble resin, and from 0 to 15 wt.% of other additives; a production method for the same; and an absorbent sheet comprising the same. The ink composition can be printed onto the surfaces of various objects. Also, with printed layers which have been formed by printing of the ink composition, pH can be measured by means of colour changes through a reaction with aqueous samples even after print drying, and there is little colour bleeding, and there is no decolouration or discolouration of the ink layer after it has been changed by a sample.
