... 배터리 전원으로 모터를 구동하여 발생하는 동력으로 바퀴부의 회전을 보조하도록 설계된 유모차, 노인용 보행기, 산업용 수레, 또는 마트용 카트와 같은 이송장치(이하, '유모차'로 통칭함)를 제어하는 방법이 개시된다. 힘센서를 이용하여 측정한 '사용자가 유모차에 가하는 힘'으로부터 유모차 구동에 관한 사용자의 의사를 파악하여 그 의사에 맞는 추종 각속도를 산출한다. 속도센서를 이용하여 유모차의 실제 각속도를 측정한다. 실제 각속도가 추종 각속도를 추종하기 위한 각속도 보상값을 산출한다. 경사센서가 측정하는 '유모차가 위치한 지점의 경사각'과 유모차의 총 질량에 의해 유모차가 경사면에서 밀려 내려가는 힘을 보상하기 위한 토크 보상값을 산출한다. 각속도 보상값과 토크 보상값을 합하여 모터부의 구동을 위한 구동제어신호를 산출하여 모터구동부에 제공한다. 이러한 제어를 수행하기 위한 제어 장치도 개시된다. 이에 의하면, 모터가 경사도에 따라 적정한 동력을 보조해주므로, 사용자는 유모차가 위치한 지점이 평지, 오르막, 내리막에 상관없이 언제나 평지에서 모는 정도의 힘만으로 유모차를 구동할 수 있다. 내리막에서 유모차 손잡이를 놓치더라도, 그 사실을 자동으로 인지하여 유모차를 신속하고 안전하게 정지시킬 수 있어 안전사고를 예방할 수 있다.
