... 본 발명은 변이된 돼지 유행성 설사병 바이러스 및 이를 이용한 유행성 설사병 예방용 백신 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로 한국생명공학연구원 생물자원센터(KCTC)에 기탁번호 KCTC18491P로 기탁된 변이된 신규 돼지 유행성 설사병 바이러스(porcine epidemic diarrhea virus) QIAP1401-70P와 이를 불활화한 바이러스를 유효성분으로 함유하는 돼지 유행성 설사병 예방용 백신 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 신규 바이러스는 최근 유행하고 있는 변이된 돼지 유행성 설사병 바이러스와 동일한 G2b에 속하여 유전적으로 매우 유사하므로, 이를 불활화하여 백신으로 사용하면 최근 유행하는 돼지 유행성 설사병을 보다 효과적으로 예방할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 안정성 및 면역원성이 우수하다. 또한 Vero 세포에서 매우 우수한 증식력을 나타내어 in vitro 증식을 통한 대량생산이 용이하다는 장점도 있다. 본 발명의 신규 바이러스는 3일령 자돈부터 11주령 육성돈에 이르기까지 폭넓게 병원성을 나타내어 백신 개발 또는 테스트를 위한 공격접종용 바이러스주로도 유용하게 사용할 수 있어, 이후 보다 우수한 백신의 개발에도 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
