The present invention relates to a hybrid generation and propulsion system of vessel, which operates a propelling body by receiving electric energy from a battery in entry to a port, malfunction of a propelling engine, departure from a port, passage of a channel, and sailing in an environmental regulation zone, so as to attain zero-pollutant emission, and a method thereof. According to one embodiment of the present invention, the hybrid generation and propulsion system of a vessel satisfies the amount of electric energy required for power consumption places installed in the vessel and, at the same time, operates the propulsion body of the vessel to propel the vessel.
