... 본 발명은 반추동물의 반추위 내에서 발생하는 메탄 생성을 저감시키기 위한 사료 첨가제 조성물에 관한 것으로, 자세하게는 알린(Alliin) 및 베르베린(Berberine)으로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택되는 하나 이상의 성분을 포함하는 메탄 생성 저감용 사료 첨가제 조성물에 관한 것으로, 더 자세하게는 황화디알릴(Diallyl disulfide, DADS), 질산염(Nitrate) 및 유칼립투스 오일(Eucalyptus oil)로 구성되는 군으로부터 선택되는 하나 이상의 성분을 추가로 포함하는 메탄 생성 저감용 사료 첨가제 조성물에 관한 것이다. 이에 따른, 사료 첨가제 조성물은 추가적인 처리 공정 없이 사료에 첨가하여 급여함으로써 반추위 내에서의 메탄 생성을 6.7% 내지 65.9%로 저감시키는 효과가 있다. 또한, 황화디알릴, 질산염, 베르베린 및 유칼립투스 혼합 조성물을 착유우에서 급여했을 때, 메탄발생량이 대조구 대비 23.1% 이상 감소하고, 유량도 대조구대비 1.1% 이상 증가하는 것을 확인하였다. 따라서 이 혼합 조성물은 가축의 생산성에 부정적인 영향을 미치지 않으면서 반추위 내 메탄발생량을 감소시킬 수 있기 때문에 메탄 저감용 사료 첨가제로서 반추동물산업에 용이하게 적용될 수 있다.
