Measured quantities, delivering.-An adjustable water-supply tap, which can be adapted for use as a ball-and-float valve, as a flushing-valve for water closets, or as a measuring-valve for tanks or cisterns, is shown in Fig 1. A conical facing H is secured on the valve A, which slides in a chamber C connected by a passage T to the inlet V. The spindle L carries a disc valve M, which works against a seat formed on the valve A. The valve is normally closed by the pressure on the top of the valve. When the spindle is pushed upwards, the disc valve is opened and water escapes through the valve A. A shoulder P on the spindle then engages with and lifts the valve A.
