In a handrail including a carcass, a stretch inhibitor within the carcass, and a sliding layer bonded to the carcass, at least a portion of the carcass has a gas phase dispersed in a solid polymer matrix. The gas phase can reduce a density of the carcass by at least 5% or 10%, or about 15%, as compared to a density of the polymer matrix. The carcass can have a generally uniform distribution of gas bubbles in the polymer matrix, which can define a generally closed cell structure in the polymer matrix. The gas phase can be formed of particles of a syntactic foam dispersed in the polymer matrix. The handrail can further include a cover. The carcass and the cover can be formed of thermoplastic materials, and the cover can represent between 10 and 30% of the overall TPU required for the handrail. 1. A method and apparatus for extrusion of an article is provided. A die assembly can apply flows of thermoplastic material to an array of reinforcing cables to form a composite extrusion. Novel process for removing polymer from aqueous absorbent solutions used to contact organic gas-containing gas streams comprising the steps of adjusting the polymer-containing aqueous absorbent solutions to a pH of not more than about 8.5, preferably not more than about 7.5, for example, about 6.0 to about 8.5, preferably about 7.0 to about 7.5, and removing the polymer from the resulting solutions by decantation and/or filtration. The novel process is particularly applicable to the system of removing acid gas from hydrocarbon-containing feed gases which contain one or more polymerizable components wherein the feed gas is contacted with an aqueous absorbent solution which absorbs the acid gas and, thereafter, the absorbent solution is stripped to rid it of said acid gas. The adjustment of pH can be accomplished by increasing the acid gas loading in the aqueous absorbent or by adding an acid, preferably one which will not form a heat stable salt with the absorbent. The pH adjustment, e.g., acidification, and filtration can be performed on the total mainstream or a portion thereof, i.e., a sidestream, before it is stripped.

ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The detailed embodiment associates access registers (AR's) with the general purpose registers (GPR's) in a data processor. The AR's are each loaded with a unique STD (segment table descriptor). The STD comprises a segment table address in main storage and a segment table length field. There are 15 AR's associated respectively with 15 GPR's in a processor to define a subset of up to 15 data address spaces. The STD in an AR is selected for address translation when the associated GPR is selected as a storage operand base register, such as being the GPR selected by the B-field in an IBM System/370 instruction. The invention allows each AR to specify that it does not use the STD in its associated AR to define its data address space, but instead uses the STD in the program address space AR. However, the STD content of an AR is not selected for an address translation if the associated GPR is selected for a purpose other than as a storage operand base register, such as if a GPR is selected as an index (X) register or as a data source or sink register (R) for an instruction. A sixteenth AR may be provided to define and control the executing program address space, which may also contain data. The embodiment obtains authority and other control for access to and use of the content in each address space by also associating an AR Control Vector (ARCV) register with each AR.

A pressure swing adsorption process for the separation of nitrogen from natural gas utilizes two separate pressure swing adsorption stages, the first containing a hydrocarbon-selective adsorbent and the second containing a nitrogen-selective adsorbent. In the process, the product stream from the first pressure swing adsorption unit contains a natural gas stream having a reduced hydrocarbon content and the product stream from the second pressure swing adsorption unit is a natural gas stream having a reduced nitrogen concentration. The product from the second pressure swing adsorption unit is used to desorb the hydrocarbons from the first pressure swing adsorption unit so as to add the hydrocarbons, which have heat value to the product natural gas stream. Periodically, heating the nitrogen-selective adsorbent with heated product stream from the second pressure swing adsorption unit has been found to improve the capacity of the nitrogen-selective adsorbent to adsorb nitrogen.

The specification discloses an address control means in a data processing system which associates access registers (AR's 46) with the general purpose registers (GPR's 17) in a data processor. The AR's are each loaded with a unique STD (segment table descriptor). The STD comprises a segment table address in main storage and a segment table length field. There are 15 AR's associated respectively with 15 GPR's in a processor to define a subset of up to 15 data address spaces. The STD in an AR is selected for address translation when the associated GPR is selected as a storage operand base register, such as being the GPR selected by the B-field in an IBM System/370 instruction. The arrangement allows each AR to specify that it does not use the STD in its associated AR to define its data address space, but instead uses the STD in the program address space AR. However, the STD content of an AR is not selected for an address translation if the associated GPR is selected for a purpose other than as a storage operand base register, such as if a GPR is selected as an index (X) register or as a data source or sink register (R) for an instruction. A sixteenth AR may be provided to define and control the executing program address space, which may also contain data. The arrangement obtains authority and other control for access to and use of the content in each address space by also associating an AR Control Vector (ARCV) register with each AR.

This invention provides a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process for the separation of nitrogen from a mixture of the same with methane which comprises: a) passing a feed stream comprising said mixture in contact with a nitrogen-selective sorbent in a PSA unit so as to preferentially adsorb nitrogen and produce a methane-rich product stream containing at least 70 mol. % methane and a low pressure purge stream having a higher molar concentration of nitrogen than said mixture; and (b) subsequent to step (a), periodically heating said nitrogen-selective sorbent with the methane-rich product stream to drive off accumulated methane from the sorbent.

In a handrail including a carcass, a stretch inhibitor within the carcass, and a sliding layer bonded to the carcass, at least a portion of the carcass has a gas phase dispersed in a solid polymer matrix. The gas phase can reduce a density of the carcass by at least 5% or 10%, or about 15%, as compared to a density of the polymer matrix. The carcass can have a generally uniform distribution of gas bubbles in the polymer matrix, which can define a generally closed cell structure in the polymer matrix. The gas phase can be formed of particles of a syntactic foam dispersed in the polymer matrix. The handrail can further include a cover. The carcass and the cover can be formed of thermoplastic materials, and the cover can represent between 10 and 30% of the overall TPU required for the handrail.

A method and apparatus for extrusion of an article is provided. A die assembly can apply flows of thermoplastic material to an array of reinforcing cables to form a composite extrusion. A slider fabric can be bonded to one side of the composite extrusion. After exiting the die assembly, the slider fabric can act to support the extrudate as it passes along an elongate mandrel, which can cause the base of the slider fabric to change shape from a flat profile to the final internal profile of the article. The extruded article can then be cooled to solidify the material. The die can include cooling for the slider fabric and means for promoting penetration of the thermoplastic into reinforcing cables.
