The invention provides a method for judging the critical area of a sonic drilling string and a maximum stress joint. The method includes: a, establishing a longitudinal forced vibration simplified mathematical model of the sonic drilling string; b, setting parameters such as total length of the sonic drilling string, length of a single drill pipe and material yield limit; c, subjecting the maximum stress location and the critical area of the sonic drilling string to programming calculation by using related software. By the method, the critical area of the sonic drilling string can be theoretically confirmed and the appearing location of the maximum stress joint of the drilling string can be judged, and cracks or breakages, of the screwed joint, caused by concentration of stress can be avoided. Therefore, drilling efficiency during application of the sonic drilling technology is favorably improved, and damage to machines and tools by audio frequency vibration is reduced.
