A. mobile device includes a plurality of microphones to recognize a sound generated from an external input, a sensor to recognize an impulse generated from the external input, and a processor. The processor determines multiple regions around the mobile device, determines whether the external input is generated in a region among the multiple regions based on the recognized sound and the impulse, and executes an instruction corresponding to the region. A method that uses a processor to recognize an external input includes recognizing a sound generated from an external input, recognizing an impulse generated from the external input, determining, using the processor, a location of the external input around a mobile device based on the recognized sound and the impulse, and executing an instruction corresponding to the location of the external input. 1. A mobile device , comprising:a plurality of microphones to recognize a sound generated from an external input;a sensor to recognize an impulse generated from the external input; anda processor to determine multiple regions around the mobile device, to determine whether the external input is generated in a region among the multiple regions based on the recognized sound and the impulse, and to execute an instruction corresponding to the region.2. The mobile device of claim 1 , wherein the plurality of microphones comprises a first microphone and a second microphone claim 1 , and the processor calculates a distance difference between a first distance from the external input to the first microphone and a second distance from the external input to the second microphone based on the recognized sound.3. The method of claim 2 , wherein the first eye outer points are detected by extracting eye model shape parameters of the first eye outer points associated with eigen vectors of the eye model claim 2 , and limiting a range of each of the extracted eye model shape parameters.4. The method of claim 1 , wherein the second eye outer points correspond to a direction corresponding to a gaze facing straight on to a camera of a device.5. A recording/reproducing apparatus and a tracking control method which can perform data processing for reliably recording or reproducing data on or from a recording medium are disclosed. Tracking error signal (TE) is generated using difference signal (A-B) produced from reflected light from a recording medium and an offset included in the difference signal is compensated for using another reflected light received separately from the reflected light. Offset-compensated tracking error signal ((A-B)-k(C-D)) is obtained by subtracting another difference signal (C-D) produced from the separately received reflected light according to gain (k) from difference signal (A-B). Different gains may be used for areas on the recording medium having different reflectances. Thus, the tracking error signal can be compensated for an optical offset caused by lens movement and an offset caused by different reflectances and light radiated to the recording medium can accurately follow its track to perform reliable data processing.
