A compound of formula (I) is disclosed: 2. The compound as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said electron-donatable moiety is selected from a group consisting of an oxygen atom claim 1 , a nitrogen atom claim 1 , a sulfur atom claim 1 , a hydroxyl group claim 1 , an aldehyde group claim 1 , a ketone group claim 1 , an ether group claim 1 , a siloxy group claim 1 , an amino group claim 1 , a thiol group claim 1 , an amido group claim 1 , and combinations thereof.3. The compound as claimed in claim 1 , wherein each of R claim 1 , R claim 1 , and Ris not an aryl group.4. The compound as claimed in claim 1 , which is produced by(a) subjecting a starting compound to an intramolecular imine-formation reaction, wherein said starting compound contains said electron-donatable moiety, an amino group, and a reactive group capable of conducting said intramolecular imine-formation reaction with said amino group; or(b) subjecting a first compound and a second compound to an intermolecular imine-formation reaction, said first compound containing an amino group, said second compound containing a reactive group capable of conducting said intermolecular imine-formation reaction with said amino group of said first compound, at least one of said first compound and said second compound containing said electron-donatable moiety, said first compound and said second compound may be the same compound or different compounds.5. The compound as claimed in claim 4 , wherein said starting compound is polyglucosamine.6. The compound as claimed in claim 4 , wherein said intramolecular imine-formation reaction is conducted in a solvent selected from a group consisting of water claim 4 , alcohol claim 4 , ketone claim 4 , ester claim 4 , and combinations thereof.7. The compound as claimed in claim 6 , wherein said intramolecular imine-formation reaction is conducted at a temperature ranging from 25° C. to a reflux temperature of a combination of said starting compound and said solvent.8.
